Winter Village Block of the Month Quilt from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

Winter Village Block of the Month Quilt

A bear spends the winter months snuggled deep inside his cozy den. He snores away the chilly days with not a care in the world. I must admit, I do the same, but instead of sleep, I quilt! This year, I’ll be working on a charming new Block of the Month by Edyta Sitar.

Training from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

This is the FINAL week of the year that's filled with craziness. The good news is that it's already Thursday and tomorrow, I need to be in the car for my trip to Earlton and then North Bay. I'll be teaching some cool events on quilting and sewing machines. I'll be in Earlton at The Quilting Barn on December 1. Call them to get yourself booked to the event if you're in the area. I've got my eye on that panel she has on her Facebook page. Doesn't it look awesome?

Patterns may look different from designer to designer and from quilt book to magazine, but they all have some elements in common and that is what we go over into today’s video.

In the video I walk you through all the steps in the Split Nine Patch pattern I created for this ...

'It' and the Dare to Doodle from La Bella Colori

Yea, I have seen the blogs, looked over the tutorials and read the books (oh so many books) that say "Get a dry erase board and doodle. It will help you to learn good eye hand coordination and improve your quilting skills." I ignored that advice. I made excuses like "its not really like actually quilting", "I am not good at drawing things", and "it can't possibly help me, its just silly".

Until, one day during a back to school sale I picked up this 'thing'.

Scary? YES! You mean I have to use it?

When I arrived ...
