First Stitch out on the Grace Qnique 21 Longarm from The Free Motion Quilting Project

Today I’m playing on my new longarm, the Grace Qnique 21! This is the biggest longarm Grace Company offers and I admit, I found it a bit intimidating when I first opened the box. In this video, I share my VERY first stitches and adjust the tension on the top and bobbin to create perfectly balanced stitches:

Click Here to check out the Grace 21 longarm. One very, very important thing: you need to save the box and Styrofoam insert inside it just in case there are any issues with your new machine.  Make sure you have space for ...

Preorder Mally the Maker from The Free Motion Quilting Project

Yes, it's finally time to share my new book Mally the Maker and the Queen in the Quilt! Click Here to check out the book.

This novel has been such an adventure to write! I've loved every step of the process from creating the magical world of Quilst (no, that's not misspelled) to inventing the evil witch who nearly destroyed it. I had so much fun incorporating hand sewing and traditional quilt blocks into the story and making small illustrations for each chapter.

My goal with writing this book was to create a fun story for quilters ...

The Great Quilt Sort from The Free Motion Quilting Project

The Great Quilt Sort is in full swing and I've managed to organize, fold, and make decisions about most of the quilts in my closets.

I started by giving a lot of quilts away. My in-laws and Dad took a few quilts and I gave a baby quilt away to a friend that's expecting. It's a very pink quilt so we'll cross our fingers she's having a girl.

I continued organizing and sorting and found myself running into a problem. If a quilt could possibly be used for teaching, I felt a tendency to keep ...
