It’s been quite a week. The date for Robin’s second knee replacement had finally rolled around, and on the day prior he needed blood tests done, and we were both asked to take a RAT test each, to prove we were Covid free. Luckily the tests were negative, always a bit of a worry as we had one friend who had his surgery deferred for quite some weeks as he had caught Covid. The alarm clock was set on Tuesday morning for 5.00am, and we were out the door and driving at 6.00am to Palmy in ...
read moreThere is a reason why they call it SLOW stitching...it takes a long time to finish a project. I am still working on the second quadrant of my Sunflower cross stitch. I don't have a deadline for this picture so it will get done when it gets done.
Here we are again, another month that seem to just fly by. Its amazing considering we all seem to suffer one way or another from the weather.
Here in NE Oklahoma it was extreme heat and humidity.
A good thing because of it I was inside a lot, which meant I was keeping myself busy with projects.
Was pretty successful too.
This is going to be a picture heavy post.
I'll start with the one that I had been working on the past few months
the Spring Fling Shop Hop from 2015.
It turned out so pretty, and next ...

read moreIt’s no wonder I’m rather slow with my knitting projects, as lately I’ve had several on the go at the same time. This little baby jumper was started in the New Year when we were on our 10 week South Island caravan trip, and knitted off and on over those weeks. Made with several part balls of donated acrylic yarn, I decided to do stripes and “bunny ears” as this design was called during my childhood. I was so pleased I had completed the button bands and collar before starting the sleeves, as the yellow ran out ...

read moreYesterday was one of those inside days and I was making sure I didn’t get bored by working on more than one thing. Why didn’t I spend more time outside? This is why – this was at about 1PM if I remember right Thread basting happened on Noriko’s Star And yes I was finally able […]

read moreI sewed the last little pile of 4" 16 patches, my mindless sewing.
Knitting is always relaxing. I love the color of this yarn so I got the super size skein.

read moreI've just finished knitting three of Aunt Ev’s dishcloths. Not my own Aunt Ev, I’ve never had one of those. And I have to say, that sadly, all my Aunts have passed away over the years. I found this particular Aunt Ev on the internet, under “Make it Do” patterns, declaring that this pattern was Aunt Ev’s favourite dish cloth.
When we were on holiday over Christmas and staying with Robin’s sister and hubby, Kaye admired a knitted dish cloth I was using in the caravan. So I gifted her the second one I had ...
read moreWhat could be busier than a 5.00am wake-up call? Just as well we set the alarm on the cell phones to get us up early one day last week, now we are retired our mornings are no longer ruled by alarm clocks. Robin was having a procedure done at the hospital and we had to be up, showered, dressed and on our way bright and early. Driving to the hospital takes about 50 minutes but we like to allow about an hour, just in case. And just in case it was, when we came to a complete standstill behind ...
read moreYesterday was a slow Sunday and I did a bit of hand work. I finished taking apart the machine quilting that I didn’t like and ready to baste the toddler quilt again today. I am linking to Small Quilts and Doll Quilts today. This section for Noriko’s Star is nearly done – one more of […]
read moreI've been slow stitching on my pair of elephants for my Noah’s Ark stitchery project. Such magnificent animals indeed. Now this block is completed, I only have one more block to do, so that’s exciting.

Goodness knows how I’ve come to be working on three pair of socks at the same time! This is all secret knitting for gifts so I’ll have to keep knitting away. Guess all this knitting cuts into my hand stitching time, but never mind, variety is the spice of life, so they say. As a ...

read moreThis pair took a while to finish, as all my knitting does, but here they are at last, in time for winter. I knit my socks on two needles and have finally finished stitching the side seams up. I laid the socks on the floor to take a picture, and Gemma thought they were put there for her to inspect and give the seal of approval.
These thick triple knit socks were knitted using 8ply white hand spun wool, a birthday gift last year from my friend Merilyn, together with left over 4ply burgundy Zauberball sock yarn. This is my ...

The trees have taken a while to change colour but the last two weeks have changed all of that.
Perfect weather to be inside stitching. And that has led to a finish.
My Tinsel BOM, (Sue Spargo), is now a completed top.
I have shown the blocks along the way as each one was completed. That left the border to go. All those snowflakes kept me busy, 144 little circles in all. Once sewn down, each little circle was stitched ...
