Jelly Roll Rug.....Progress from May Your Bobbin Always Be Full

The last time you saw this jelly roll rug

it looked like this...

this is 4 hours into this project.

I stitched on it again today...

I finished stitching the batting inside

of all of the strips

and rolled them into a big ball...

This is my set up:

The big ball is sitting in a glass bowl

between my feet...

This allows it to feed easily as I stitch...

In order to keep it perfectly flat,

I press the rug after

I add each round of stitching...

Use lots of steam!

It gets bigger quickly...

It is 30 inches ...

10 tips for a perfect jelly roll rug from easypatchwork

Hi Everyone! Thanks for dropping by. I recently jumped on the bandwagon (yes, I did) and made the Jelly Roll Rug designed by Roma Lambson of RJ Designs  original pattern © 2017. I've been secretly wanting to make it for a while, and when I saw one made by Andrea, from our local quilt group, I knew it would be on my list to make in the near future. I asked some of my friends if they wanted

Cool Summer Sewalong and Project from Aunt Polly's Porch

The Moda Bake Shop (MBS) offered a new fun summer activity called Oda May's Summer Camp.
This was the MBS's second online sewalong.  They had one last summer called Oda May's School of Sewing

They learned from that first sewalong that choice is a good thing...not everyone likes the same blocks, so this time, they gave you two choices each week for the next round of blocks or borders.

They were the same size, so you could mix and match to come up with your own quilt.

I really enjoyed it more this time, for that ...

Jelly Roll Bag from Polka Dots and Butterflies

I have been  quilting for over twenty years but have never taken a class.  Crazy, right.  I learned from my mom, and then books and the internet.  I recently joined the Valley Modern Quilt Guild and they host classes. I took my first class and made this jelly roll bag. I absolutely love it and the class was a lot of fun.  Just being with other quilters, seeing how they quilt and their supplies, and getting to try out another machine (when mine quit) was so much fun. I am already signed up for my next class.  And I will ...

I couldn't resist any longer and hopped on the jelly roll rug bandwagon this weekend :).

Don't you just love when humble strips of fabric and some batting become a super adorable as well as practical decor? Yep, projects like this are my favorite.

The pattern by Roma Quilts calls for a jelly roll of fabric but I cut my own 2.5'' strips of fabric from my stash since I don't own any jelly rolls. I went back and forth on what prints to choose a lot, of course. I was a bit tempted to go super ...
