Jesus Asked It #11. I Like...San Diego! $7.50 Blocks! from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #11
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 56789, 10
As you may recall this series started when my Pastor mentioned this in church:  If you really want to get to know Jesus, look at the questions He asked.  Let's continue on our journey.

How often I have been guilty of this very action!
I guess I made the most progress at breaking this habit when I heard this in Al-Anon:

Memes, Responsibility, and Back: Whenever you point the finger of blame at Someone notice the three fingers of responsibility pointing back towards you. Unknown
Dear one, it's a continual journey to improve ourselves, to live out God's Word, to become gentle with ourselves ...

Jesus Asked It #10. I Like Nursing Home Humor! Organizing Tool. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #10
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 5678, 9
Ouch!  "you of little faith". How quickly we can forget who we are, who we serve, who our Daddy and Big Brother is!
I've been facing medical insurance issues lately and guess what?  I'm almost as upset as I was when we were battling these same issues back in 2014/2015.  Almost as upset.  Almost.  Progress not perfection.
"you of little faith."
I've progressed, yet still have so far to go.  Don't we all?
I can thank God for the ...

Jesus Asked It #9. I Like. $7.50 Blocks from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #9
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 567, 8
Ok.  So this has happened to me several times.  I have had to empty out my entire closet - twice.  In doing so, I realized I had over 50 spring/summer tops - not to include sweaters, shawls and such to wear over said tops.  Seriously.
And that was just tops - I won't even discuss bottoms, skirts, dresses and such.
Before then how many times have I said, "I need clothes."
REALLY?
I realize Jesus was referring to clothes here, but honestly, how many little worries ...

I Like...Jesus Asked It #8. Stitchers' Garden Block 2 from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #8
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 56, 7
You know, I used to be pretty talented at worrying.  In fact, it is a skill I can still pick up at the drop of a hat, a heart, or a hint of bad news.  Then I realized that fear was the real problem.  As I found myself beginning to worry about something, I began asking myself, "What are you afraid of?"  Fear is often disguised as worry.  I needed to face my fears.
I then realized that this acronym,
False Evidence Appearing ...

Jesus Asked It #7. I Like.....My Furry Friends! Stitchers' Garden Block 1. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #7
Jesus Asked Series: 1,  2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Since it has been a while since I've addressed this series, I went back to re-read Jesus Asked it #6.  Little did I know how I would be writing to myself.  This year has been tough, and God has been faithful to clothe me with His comforting and strengthening presence.  I live in wonder of it all with a heart filled with praise.

Now, onto Jesus Asked It #7!
Let's remember that this question: Are you not much more valuable than they? comes directly from ...

Wednesday's Word. I Like. from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Wednesday's Word
As I reread Don't Throw in the Towel, Hope Again!, by Jana Alcorn, I thought of  my dad.  We heard the "official" diagnosis:  Stage 4 Prostate Cancer with metastasis to most of his bones and to his lymph nodes with a life expectancy of 18 months if he responds well to treatment.
Quite a mouthful.
But,
God
is
bigger
than
cancer.
He knows and holds my dad and all of us in the palm of His hands.  I respect, value and even love most of  my doctors, but my faith is in Jesus Christ.

I trust ...

Wednesday's Word. I like! from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Wednesday's Word
"Without faith, hope has nothing to attach itself to."
-Jana Alcorn Don't Throw in the Towel, Hope Again!
How very true.
Do we see a loser in our life or do we see the person God sees?
Do we see possibility or impossibility?
Do we see dying or being healed in Heaven?
Do we see pain or growth in the struggle?
Do we have hope or despair?

It's hard to have the later of these in times of trials, but precious one as we cling to the Father, His Word, listen to inspirational music, read ...

Jesus Asked It #6. I Like! BOMs Away! from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Jesus Asked It #6
Jesus Asked Series:1,  2, 3, 4, 5

In my NIV Bible, the section of Matthew 6:25-34 is titled, “Do Not Worry.”  Do. Not. Worry.
The beginning refers to how God clothes the grass of the field.  The NKJV refers to the lilies of the field.  If they, which are temporary are so beautifully clothed, how much more/better will He clothe us?

Many of us will face difficult circumstances this year or perhaps are dealing with situations from 2018.  Let us be of great faith, trusting God to spiritually clothe us with His fruit ...

I Like Thursdays #97 flamingos, art, shadows and a poodle from Not Afraid of Color

Welcome to this week's list of likes! I like flamingos (surprised? ) I am happily finding some flamingo treasures that have been packed away for 6 months plus. The lovely ceramic planter used to live on the back porch table in MD, now on my kitchen desk.
The tall one footed fluffy haired flamingo was a gift long ago from my sister Patty. She asked if it was too tacky... (can a flamingo item BE tacky??? I don't think so...) (It's a writing pen!!)
seriously the unpacking takes much longer than one might suspect, I wrote a story ...

I Like Thursday! Finished Prayer Shawl! from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

I Like! Thursdays

You may want to have a cup of coffee or tea for these "I Likes" that are centered around one of my favorite restaurants - Le Rendezvous - a locally owned restaurant/French pastry shop.
These decorations always draw my eye....
but oh!
Their pastries are beyond delicious!

Here's what we ended up taking home....
And yes, we enjoyed every bite!

Prayer Shawl #7
I finally finished Prayer Shawl #7!
I love the texture of the stitch!
My husband cuddled up with it before I washed it and gave his stamp of approval for "snuggliness"!

I used a ...
