SCHMETZ Super NonStick needles make sewing a fabric trinket box a breeze from Quilt Social

Yesterday I gathered the supplies and prepared the trinket box sections with Sulky Fuse ‘n Stitch stabilizer and layers of HeatnBond Lite iron-on adhesive.

Today will be so much fun completing the wonderful fabric trinket box. A SCHMETZ Super NonStick needle and Sulky rayon thread will make sewing a breeze. Let’s go.

2 days to sew a fabric trinket box from Quilt Social

Yesterday I began an exploration of what makes the new SCHMETZ Super NonStick needle so special and tested its abilities by making a pair of applique tea towels. Today I’ll prepare the pieces to make a lovely fabric trinket box. Sulky Fuse ‘n Stitch and HeatnBond Lite will really help to show off the capabilities of the SCHMETZ super nonstick needles. I’ve used fabric from the Harbor Reflections collection by Northcott to lend an artistic flair.

1 last gift bag and the beauty of the BQ3050’s help screen from Quilt Social

Thanks for coming back to QUILTsocial as I make another quick and easy gift bag using just a few of the many techniques available on the Brother Innov-ís BQ3050 machine. So far this week, I’ve shown you how to use the cording bobbin cover to add decorative trim, create words to embellish fabric and using decorative stitching with bobbin work.

One of the features on this machine I’ve come to really appreciate is the easily accessible help screen. When I press the? key at the bottom of the LCD screen, this menu pops up.

Gift bag with decorative cording

To prepare for bobbin work, remove the regular black bobbin case and replace it with the ...

We often don’t use all the features on our machines, so making these little gift bags is a good chance to use some different features and create a small, useful item at the same time. In last month’s QUILTsocial post, I made a holiday table runner, and used several decorative stitches.

Decorative and floating stitches unite to make the gift giving season easy from Quilt Social

How many people are on your gift list? Too many to make quilts for that’s for sure! But quick little handmade gifts are appreciated too. In yesterday’s post I made a personalized mug rug using the PFAFF Stitch Creator feature. Well, I’m not done! It was hard to play and create stitches and not use more of them in projects. Today’s project is quick and easy and uses even more of the stitches built into the PFAFF quilt expression 720.
