New Month, New Quiltmaker from From the Strawberry Patch...

Even though it seems as though each day slips silently into the next during these crazy days of the "new normal" (whatever that is), time really is moving forward and we've slipped into August already! Our daughter and oldest granddaughter spent a few days visiting from the Capital City. Now that Lucy Ann has completed third grade, it's high time for her to learn and utilize machine skills  for

And Sew It Goes from From the Strawberry Patch...

I've finished the quilting on this little one, "Sister Bear"; I have the binding all ready to apply, and wouldn't you know it, it's a batik and there's enough left over to make more masks! Yay! This is the batch from last week, thirteen adult sized and one child's mask; they've already been distributed to their new families and I have nine all ready to go this week! I thought that my batiks were

Flower Power from From the Strawberry Patch...

I have another tumbler quilt off the rails, this will be a donation quilt.  I used a new (to me) Pantograph (thanks, Santa!) for this scrappy quilt;  "Flower Child". It worked out perfectly for this project and is super easy and FAST! Like my old FAST favorite: Loop de Loop, this one is forward motion all the way, no points or starts and stops until one gets to the edge (or runs out of bobbin

Ride Along from From the Strawberry Patch...

I have a frequent passenger when I run quick errands, Hannes loves to curl up on the front seat (his aging bones enjoy the seat heater on "low", truth be told: so do mine!) I found the perfect accessory for exactly these excursions on my friend Lisa's website: it's called a Bag Quilt. This clever quilt folds up easily and neatly into its own bag, sort of like a quillow but with a carrying

Post-Christmas Report from From the Strawberry Patch...

All of the super-secret stitching that went on around here before Christmas can finally be revealed. The family in the Capital City (3 out of 4 of them) wanted weighted blankets this year. In fact, Mason has been asking for one for MONTHS! He was very specific about what he wanted: snow camo (I didn't even know that this was a thing until I looked it up!), and he wanted his to be twin-sized (12

As Time Flies By... from From the Strawberry Patch...

It seems like I just indulged in this all-too-wonderful annual treat; the limited- time-only peppermint chocolate chip milkshake! Speaking of limits, that's exactly what I put on myself when it comes to this splurge-- ONE A YEAR. Well, it might seem like I just indulged in one but it's been a year already. Oh, my! And as if I needed further proof that time is flying and leaving me in its dust,
