new wool from Making A Lather

I still love rug hooking, but haven't been able to sit for very long at a time to actually hook. But, if we can't do, we shop. Yep, I bought more wool.
The gold is a hard color to find and really important for fall projects. I have a thanksgiving rug and a scarecrow that will use it. The cream with lines is for a snowman on my snowman rug. I want every snowman to be different.
The Left cream color is actually a sparkle, and next to it is a speckle. They will be great for a ...

rug hooking inspiration from Making A Lather

I've made very little progress on my circles rug. I seem to be uninspired.

Carmen is a steady consistent rug hooker and tends to work on one project at a time. So, she has made great progress on her beautiful rug. She has added tiny detail work that is inspiring.

Someone has bought a beautiful hand dyed piece of wool. It is very vibrant and impressive. Sometimes just the piece of beautiful wool can inspire a beautiful rug.

rug hooking dino from Making A Lather

Mr dinosaur is finished for my cleveland rug. There are not any real dinosaurs in Cleveland - I checked- but it represents the natural science museum.  Oh, and I included a nifty seagull or two as well. This was a leftover piece of hand dyed wool that I had done for another project.

and we beat the critters to the grapes for the first year in a long while.

time to finish a rug from Making A Lather

My uncle sam's hat rug has reached the finishing stage. All the hooking is done, and I am really excited about finishing this rug. It is bigger than most of my rugs, but, it seemed to go very quickly. I didn't buy any wool for this rug, I was able to use what I already had on hand. The blues were a scrappy mix of dark blues.

I dyed the yarn for whipping the edges my self. I ordered 2 colors of blue dye because I wasn't sure which one I would want and I used them ...

I will be working on my rug hooking project today after church. I have dyed the green, since, I couldn't find a green I liked in my stash. I want to add a little of the background to see if I like the colors with that. I also like to give myself a little time on Sundays to spin some yarn.

color from Making A Lather

I worked on adding purple 2 inch squares to my Tokoyo subway quilt. It isn't very exciting in photos.
I needed 8 blocks with purple. Here is where I started this quilt

And just like salsa and chips, it never comes out even. I have quite a few 2 inch squares leftover.
I dyed some wool for friends at hooking guild. I am going to add these to my etsy shop as well.
I love dyeing and the pretty colors
