Looking Back from Becca's Crazy Projects

I was talking to a friend about Halloween quilts last week.
I remembered this quilt from five years ago and pulled it. It is nice to look over a quilt from years ago and be able to find lessons learned and delight in the finish.
This was only of my only forays into making a medallion quilt. If you want to read more about this quilt, and see more photos, you can check out this post or this post, both from February 2017.

I relied on Liberated Medallion Quilts by Gwen Marston while designing my quilt. Electric Quilt design software ...

A Spooky, Spooky Ghost from Needle and Foot

This year I was tasked with making a very, very spooky costume for my grand daughter’s Halloween. A wanted to be a ghost, a spooky, spooky ghost. She was quite specific about this. When asked what a spooky ghost does, she pursed her lips into a tiny ‘O’ and said oooohhhh. That was the extent of it. She is so dang funny.

‘Ooooh’ says the spooky, spooky ghost.

I asked my daughter in law what she thought would be a good spooky ghost outfit and she sent me a link from The Frugal Navy Wife. It looked adorable and ...

Thursday's Three Free Patterns, Halloween Talk, Sharing Quilt Backs, Special Video from Canadian Needle Nana

Autumn turned this maple tree into quite the marvel.

Now those limbs are bare. And for a short time, we will enjoy our golden leafy carpet under foot on our walks.
Someone asked...yes the Swedish BungyPump Walking poles are fabulous in my opinion. You do get a workout- I can feel my heartrate rise, and I do believe my upper body and arms are getting stronger.  I usually spend 15-20 minutes walking  with them as many days of the week as I can get in. Not affiliated in any way.

Happy Halloween with a Bit of Stitching Stuff from Life In Pieces

Happy Halloween!  It's been a while since Grad Girl did the dress up and trick or treat. I miss those activities now. She used to carve a pumpkin with My Guy, but she's too far away this year. She organized a pumpkin carving party with the other graduate students. She did well with her carving.

My Guy will carve his pumpkin this after noon.  We are prepared to hand out candy tonight, we'll enjoy seeing the neighborhood kids all dressed up.

I did spend some quality time in the sewing room on Sunday.  I finished the last ...

Spooks and sewing from Celtic Thistle Stitches

A couple of months ago our younger grandson put in a very specific request for his next granny sewn outfit. He wanted a vampire outfit for Halloween, well how could a granny refuse? I came across a couple of paper patterns for sale on a Facebook group that were exactly what I needed. An online fabric shop later and I was ready to start stitching.

There were so many new to me's involved in the making of this, it was a real labour of love! Attaching the stand-up collar to the cape definitely taxed my poor brain and there ...

Gremlins, Goblins, and Ghouls Oh My! Blog Hop from Quilted Delights

Welcome to day two of Ghoulish Halloween inspiration.
I love Halloween, mostly the cutesy fun part.
Nothing too gore-ish or gruesome for me.  And I can't do scary movies!
Mr. Boodegy is my limit. lol

But I do love treats and cute ways to pass them along.

This year I made some festive triangle pouches for some special little Gremlins and Goblins.

I used up some of my fun Halloween Prints for these.

These are super quick to sew up, and hold lots of sweet goodies.

There are many different tutorials on the web on how to make these ...

So, I broke out all the Halloween Fabrics and put together twenty 10" blocks

Many Free Patterns, Favourite Snack, Quilting Tilda from Canadian Needle Nana

Happy Thursday friends! The season is moving forward with news of snow flurries north of us. Here we are comfortably still in autumn with all the little things in nature changing, some faster than others as my photo captured here.

I'm soldiering away quilting Plaid Tilda.  It is going smoothly so far with the handling of the size of it and I haven't hit any lumps or tucks. It's interesting how fabric can behave well sometimes and other times not. I keep checking the back to be sure there are no snags and it's good to ...
