Make-A-List Monday - Slowly Getting Back to Normal... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Last week flew by, didn't it? But I got lots and lots done and I'm finally starting to feel like things are beginning to get back to normal, just a little bit.  Are you starting to feel that way too, or are things still out of whack for you?

Strange things happened last week - like my missing batting (ordered on May 9th!) finally turning up!

I won't bore you with the whole story, but suffice it to say I won't be ordering again from Joann.com any time soon!  I'm mainly just glad ...

Hands2Help 2020 - Do You Want to Know??? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, we've reached the final Sunday of this year's Hands2Help Comfort Quilt Challenge!  I have to say, you all have really risen to the challenge in this strangest of all years - but I'm going to make you wait just a bit for the final numbers.

First I want to show you some more quilt pictures that came in yesterday from Linda Miller, who served as our Canada point person a couple of years ago.  I've been pleased to see that many of you have supported Victoria Quilts Canada this year, and I know it ...

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!  I hope you've been well-celebrated today despite the quarantine, or that you've had fun celebrating your own mom.  I have to say that my daughter outdid herself this year with my gift...

I think her sense of humor comes from me!  I also think she's trying to find something for me to do besides jigsaw puzzles... But I will definitely enjoy spending time with this!

Hi, all!

May is finally here!  Did you think (like me) that April was going to last f-o-r-e-v-e-r?  But it was certainly a productive (if long) month, and I know many of you have been working on your H2H quilts diligently.  But now it's time to sit back and enjoy the story of another of your fellow quilters!  I'm pleased to welcome Lorraine, who has been a part of Hands2Help for several years now.  She's not a blogger, but she generously agreed to do a guest post for us because she has an important message to share ...

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

I decided this week that it was high time to quit using Jolene as an overpriced quilt rack and see if she weathered the move well, so I gathered my courage, loaded on a little quilt and quilted away!

This was an orphan block baby quilt, made from an orphan block sent a few years ago by Kate Spain in a package of ...

Guess what?  It's Sunday (if you're anything like me, that may come as news!) and that means it's time for another great guest blogger for this year's Hands2Help Challenge!  Today we are so fortunate to be hearing from my friend Sandra Walker, who is a blogger, quilter, quilt designer, and practicer of yoga.  In fact, she shared posts about yoga positions in the past and I learned that even I could do it - a great thing to know!  But she's got a great tutorial for us today, and can tell you about herself ...

Hands2Help Comfort Quilt Challenge 2020!! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

"What does love look like?
It has the hands to help others.
It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy.
It has eyes to see misery and want.
It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men.
That is what love looks like."

Hi, all!

It seems fitting that with all the turmoil and confusion in the world these days, one thing is constant - the desire of quilters to make quilts to comfort those in need. So there's really no better time for us to join together once again than right now, when ...

Charmed, I'm Sure! Time To Sew!! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Are you on "coronacation" where you are?  We are - the grandkids are out of school, hubby is working from home, and me?  Well, I'm still unpacking and working on getting my old house ready to go on the market, but I'm hoping to get some time to sew this week without as many outside distractions available!

And that segues right into the name of this week's Charmed, I'm Sure charm quilt - Time To Sew!  I chose this name because the basic building block of this quilt is commonly called the hourglass block.  You may ...

Hi, all!

Wow, is it Monday already?  This week absolutely flew by - but it's time to take stock of what got done, and see what's up next!  So let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Finish hanging pictures at the new house, and haul any that didn't make the cut up to the attic.
I am happy to say that all the pictures are hung!  AND I put the leftovers in the attic, so there are no more piles of random pictures laying around.  Hooray!

2.  Work on the quilt and tutorial for this ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? A Fresh New Year... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, here we are at Friday again - and not just any Friday, but the very first Friday of a brand new year!  I'm away on a cruise right now, but my grandmother always told me to "start as you wish to go on", and it just didn't seem right to let the first Friday go by without a chance to get our whoop whoop on.  So let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

I haven't been sewing (obviously) but I do like to take the beginning of the year to think about what's coming - and I can ...
