Valentine’s Day Sewing Project- Quilted Tags from Jacquelynne Steves

February 14 is right around the corner! I was trying to think of something quick- really quick- to dress and brighten up little spots in the house that needed some “love”. I made these little Valentine’s Day quilted tags! Sort of a super-mini Valentines Day quilt pattern, lol. They are the perfect way to use up some fabric AND batting scraps! (If you’re anything like me, you hate to throw even the littlest pieces away!) Have you noticed that metallics are everywhere?? For this Valentine’s Day sewing project, you can use metallic DecoFoil like I’ve done ...

Valentine’s Day Mini Quilt Pattern & Tutorial from Jacquelynne Steves

Today we are making this cute Valentine’s Day Mini Quilt! It’s about 10 1/2″, so you could use it for a large mug rug, or a candle mat, or a little mini table topper or wall hanging. This has a fun, unexpected shape- refer to my How to Bind Odd Angles tutorial found here.

This tutorial will also appear in the Olfa newsletter this month! I have always used Olfa rotary cutters and blades, but for the last few months I’ve been using their new Endurance Blades– and let me tell you, they are super sharp ...

My Christmas Table Runner in Quilts & More Magazine! from Jacquelynne Steves

I can’t believe we’ve come to the end of the year! It was 2015 when I submitted ideas to the editors at Quilts and More Magazine, and a little later that year when they asked me if I’d like to do a series for 2017…. 2016 was already booked (remember, this was mid 2015, and we are always working ahead). It seemed that 2017 would NEVER get here!! And here we are at the end, talking about the Winter 2018 issue! This issue features my last table runner in the series of 4. I really enjoyed these ...

Free Pumpkin Block Pattern from Jacquelynne Steves

This Free Pumpkin Block Pattern is such a fun project, and perfect for using up those scraps! I was inspired to make this because my Wonky House block tutorial was so popular. I’ve used my “wonky” pumpkin block to make a mug rug/candle mat. You can make it any size you want, and use it in a variety of projects. Just applique the pumpkin center, then continue adding strips to the sides until it’s as big as you want. Maybe use it to make a tote bag for trick-or-treating? Make several blocks and sew them together into ...

Zoo Babies Quilted Wall Hanging Pattern from The Joy of Sewing...and Quilting, Too!

Zoo Babies Quilted Wall Hanging Pattern
My newest quilt pattern is now available at www.craftsy.com. This darling quilt is perfect for a zoo-themed nursery or child's room, complete with nine of the most popular animals at the zoo. Meet Ellie Elephant, and Lucas the Lion, along with other favorites, including Penny Penguin and Molly Monkey, all done up in easy fusible machine applique. Although there are lots of pieces for each animal, their size is deceiving in the quilt illustration, since the blocks finish at 9" square within the sashed quilt top. Make it to use as ...
