Have you ever made just one block from a pattern to see how you like it?  That is what I'm doing with the Perfect 5 book. The Fat Quarter shop has a whole sampler you can make, I'm going to do a smaller version as I'm making just one of each of the 16 quilts.. so far I have 2 favorites that I will be making full quilts from.

I decided to get the alphabet blocks finished then to set my Dear Jane. Top 2 rows are sewn together, woohoo! Norm is supervising there and I put my Glow block up on the wall too. PLUS I found that fabric hanging on right to use as a small border for this quilt. Do you like it?

Too Hot to Handle- free potholder patterns for the holidays! from Katie's Blog

If you could see what the potholders in my house looked like….. oh boy would I be embarrassed! Lets just say that Jace does a good percentage of the cooking in our house and he is not too worried about whether or not the potholders look good.  I’ve given up, so to speak, and instead I’m just happy he helps make supper most nights!

Free Pattern Alert and Quilt Market from Pieced Brain

I returned home from Quilt Market in Houston last night, exhausted and energized at the same time. My feet are still recovering from having walked the enormous convention center time and time again as I met with current clients, forged new relationships, and visited with old and new friends.

Geometric quilt - Free pattern! from Pieced Brain


Let's begin the week with a free quilt pattern! This fun geometric quilt design features the Geo-Topia line by Color Principle for Henry Glass. Quilt 1, as it is called, measures 63-1/2" x 78" and the blocks finish at 15-1/2".
