Island Batik Challenge & Blog Hop from Sew Preeti Quilts

The September Island Batik Challenge and Blog Hop is called Pieced to Perfection. We were required to make a paper-pieced project at least lap sized, using as many different fabrics as possible from our assigned collection.

I received Chromatic. It is an original collection designed by Deb Tucker of Studio 180 Designs.

And here is my response to the challenge!

I chose "The Palm" block from EQ8 Block Library (under Old favorites).

Generations of Friendship Quilt Layout from easypatchwork

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by today and checking out the Generations of Friendship Quilt Layout featuring our new historical paper dolls series of figures. A couple of weeks ago, we showed our new quilt layout with six 6" x 12" quilt blocks in a circular layout set into a rectangle. The finished size is about 45" x 45" roughly.

Fabric Selection

As with most quilts, the desigsn are created with a simple, solid color scheme on the computer and later translated into fabric after many hours of fabric research. Our FPP paper dolls look best when using tone-on-tone or ...

Finally, a 2020 Wrap Up. from {The Sweetest Dreams}

Last year was a kind of blur. It started out normal but quickly changed into the year from hell. I hated being away from my family and my sewing/quilting peeps. Both of my guilds, Eastern Long Island Quilt Guild and Long Island Modern Quilt Guild, stopped in person meetings as of March. In June, our Tuesday night North Fork Quilters group decided to meet out in the parking lot of the rec center we normally met in. We were all so happy to actually see each other. Eventually both guilds transitioned to Zoom meetings but it wasn't the ...

The Fence Quilt - Patchwork Professional 03-2021 from Quiltmanufaktur

Modern Classic from Leftovers (Between the Blinds) from Sew Sunshine

This is the MQG modern classic makeover pattern by Diana Vandeyar called "Oblique" for the Feb 2017 issue.
I originally made the Chess on the Steps by Krista Hennebury. I named mine 'Strength and Beauty' HERE

I thought I could use additional fabrics in the composition with the specific ones the MQG listed but I don't think that is what they wanted. So with lots of leftovers I decided to see if I had enough fabric left to make another quilt.

I think I want to call mine "Between the Blinds"

First up is a finished quilt top - this is the Land of Magic quilt pattern by Kid Giddy The star, crown and castle blocks I pieced sometime ago. I had started the dragon ...
