How to Sew a “Continental” Quilt Block Tutorial featuring Nuncia Fabrics by Pat Bravo from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

My Mom has always told me becoming a Mother was the most rewarding thing that could have ever happened to her. Being a mother of four she loves all her kids the same but has always held her two daughters closest to her heart. There is just something so special about a mother-daughter relationship where your Mom isn’s just a Mom but a best friend.

This basically sums up Pat Bravo’s inspiration for her latest collection, Nuncia, which is named after her mother and is a tribute to her life and the amazing lessons she left for her ...

Which I think are perfect summertime prints with delectable fruits and fantastic floral designs.  The Rayon print offered in this collection is called "Poppy Memories” has just made it to my top three favorite rayon prints from AGF! Check out my dress in the video below. I also sewed up the “Triangles” quilt block where I made half-square triangles using the four at a time method ...

Twisted Quilt Top from Needle and Foot

I have made progress on my Twisted quilt — I have a finished quilt top!  Do you remember this project? I started it a long while back when my local quilt guild hosted a class taught by the pattern designer, Dorie Javier. It was in June of last year that I began the quilt.  I pulled it out once or twice since then and made a few more blocks for it.  Then it would sit.  Here we are, a year later, and I had hardly made any progress on it.twistedAbout two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of sewing with ...

Collecting Florals from Needle and Foot

Have you seen the gorgeous floral collage quilts popping up lately?  I have seen a number of them at the last couple of quilt shows I have attended.  One was a dressmaker’s form made of flowers and at the last quilt show, there was a really pretty rooster wall hanging made of floral fabrics collaged together.

The patterns are the work of Laura Heine.  The more I see these, the more smitten I become.   She has designed all sorts of patterns that utilize this collage method.

An endless love for flowers: Wild Bloom by Bari J. from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Hello, beautiful sewists!

Raise your hand if you love flowers as much as you love sewing! I know I sure do! Ever since I was a kid, I have fond memories of gardening with my mom (who also loves flowers), visiting botanical gardens, and when I learned how to draw it was the first thing I was inspired by. It’s no surprise that flowers make the world more beautiful! Especially when you incorporate them in fabrics, quilts, and sewing projects.

I know that during the fall it’s not conventional to use many flowers; but I encourage you to ...

As I designed it I kept thinking of looking out the window onto my backyard and seeing the picnic table all set up just waiting for the kids and the fun food.
