A little bit of aqua from Making A Lather

I have been playing in the aqua scraps. I made the flying home blocks in light and dark. I just saw this block called the humility block in an old magazine. I know why... I often get the pieces turned around and have to unpick and resew. And it is an easy block. sigh.. I have made some interesting variations, though. But, no chance, of pride on making this one for me.

I made 4 patches for the someday irish chain quilt.

I am filling the box, probably for next year.

I made the checkerboard 4 patches for woven checkerboard ...

florabunda again from Making A Lather

I am having a little bit of trouble getting the angle of the HSTs right. I can't just web the block together and start the assembly, without spreading it out, and checking it for mistakes. I am sure the more I make, the better it will get. But, it seems that I can look at a good block for placement, and, by the time, I pick up the next piece my mind has switched it. sigh....

But, it's worth it, I like the blocks, and, it's exciting to see each block. I need 72, and, I am ...

florabunda from Making A Lather

While I was clearing the cutting table yet again, I found a small baggie of these floral fabrics. They were all less than a fat quarter, and I didn't remember bringing them home on purpose. Florabunda! Melanie Testa, RJR a bit of magic from Terificreations's Weblog

Several years ago Melanie, Elizabeth Rosenberg and I met for lunch. We ended up laughing so hard and so much that we annoyed the family at the next table. Which was hilarious in and of itself, and only got us laughing more. Florabunda!, Melanie’s first line with RJR Fabrics #quiltwithlove, is all of what is… Continue reading Florabunda! We get by with a little help from our friends from Terificreations's Weblog

A friend moved over the weekend. And I helped. Oh if only my brain could recall the commercial where the kid says, “And I helped”!¬†She’s a bit further away, but closer to another friend of ours. Depending on traffic they’re about 90 minutes away. This is New York, there’s traffic. Eh, whatever. Friday afternoon we… Continue reading We get by with a little help from our friends

I Found the Perfect Yellows and other lines from Terificreations's Weblog

Cottage Joy by Shannon Christensen Windham Fabrics. As I walked into the Windham booth at Quilt Market the bright, sunshine yellow caught my eye. This line has the PERFECT yellows. Warm and welcoming without being shocking and unsettling. These are the yellows to add to the stash.
