A New Basket Project and The Fabric Stash from Quilty Folk

Perusing all of the previously made basket quilts made me think a lot about the obvious, making basket quilts.  And I started wondering. Why haven't I ever made the 'Patchwork Garden' quilt? It's a pattern that I absolutely drooled over and finally relented and bought the pattern many, many years ago. Jan Patek is that good. Her patterns can resonate for years!

A new project
I think there was too many cuts of fabric that needed 22" length or something? and I normally tend to buy fat quarters. Plus, making from pattern directions has not ever been my ...

Not That I Needed More Fabric ... from Life in the Scrapatch

I just went to look ... really I did!

I found these goodies at the

February Fabric Blowout Sale, Nashua, NH

Still happening tomorrow.
If you are interested and live close enough, click the above link.

These are brand new
marked down.

I scooped these right up and found some beautiful
pink, red and ivory tonal yardage
to sew with them.

There was only one left of these and I am sure it must now be gone.

The yardage was $3 and $5 a yard

How could I resist?

It was like an indoor yard sale run by ...

Is there a Secret Fabric Homing Instinct? from Life in the Scrapatch

“Perhaps there is some secret sort of homing instinct
in books that brings them to their perfect readers.
How delightful if that were true.”
... Juliet to Dawsey
― Mary Ann Shaffer, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

I like to think this true of fabric, too.

This half yard bundle jumped into my stash
when I was looking for fabrics
to fussy cut for my POTC Obsession.

I had not read the book
or watched the movie at that time.
In fact, I had never heard of it.

I just fell in love with this focus floral!

It is ...

Falling for Fall: Autumn Vibes Fabric Collection from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Happy Fall, Ya'll!

Hope you're as excited as I am with this new season that's finally here!

Hands down, fall is my favorite time of year, even though we're here in Florida where we don't really have seasons..minus hurricane season! I still like to pretend the leaves change color and force myself to wear "cozy layers" despite the humidity. There's something so festive about this time of year that's super exciting! It's that time when you get to gather with your family and friends, eat a ton of pumpkin-flavored foods, continue ...

It is my birthday month and my family and friends

What's Happening in the Quilt Room Today from Quilty Folk

It's been nice to spend some time in the quilting room and take stock. A couple days saw me sewing together quilt backings, something I don't generally enjoy. However, I have discovered that sewn together in batches, one after another, then it's not really quite as tedious as normal. I just use a couple big pieces of yardage and then scrap together the rest with something that blends from straight out of the stash totes. Saving myself time for that day when there's actually time to sandwich and pin means a lot in the long term ...

AGF MYSTERY MONDAY - Can You Guess What's in The Bag? from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Hi Makers,

Ever since I can remember I love "mysteries." From reading Nancy Drew books to playing the board game "Clue" to watching that 90's tv show "Unsolved Mysteries" and Alfred Hitchcock films, I was always obsessed with trying to "solve a puzzle." I loved the challenge of trying to use hints to solve what really happened while being in suspense, and often creeping myself out!

Luckily, this is a different kind of suspense and I hope you'll enjoy trying to figuring the clues as well. In case you missed our last "AGF Mystery Monday" giveaway, this is ...

 Hi Makers,

Happy June and hope your month is starting off on a good note!

It's been a busy couple of weeks here, since we settled back in from Quilt Market - Portland. It was at Market that I had the pleasure of finally meeting our AGF designer "Mister Domestic" a.k.a Mathew Boudreaux who has such so much personality and incredible talent! Oh, and if you haven't heard it in his videos or in person, he definitely has a contagious laugh as well! It was at his Quilt Market booth where I got to witness his creativity ...
