the end of the rainbow from Making A Lather

This is officially the last Saturday in May and for orange at the rainbow scrap challenge. I am not really finished with the color yet. I haven't even started orange words for my quilt. But I did get the "made" fabric ready for the end of the rainbow quilt. Each month I make 6 blocks. I only have one more color and then all the pieces will be ready to assemble.

There are some rows that I had enough finished blocks to partially assemble them.

I made 32- 4 patches for an irish chain quilt I am hoping to ...

the end of the rainbow from Making A Lather

I can't believe it is the last Saturday in April. I tend to leave the end of the rainbow quilt for the end of the rainbow scrap challenge. Not because it is my least favorite block, but, because I have to "make" the fabric. And all through the month, I have little bits leftover from the other projects that I can use to make the block. I am really excited about this block and quilt.

I have the first two rows assembled. It is bigger than I thought.

more rainbow from Making A Lather

Green is the color of the month at so scrappy and the rainbow scrap challenge. This week, I have been working a little on my rainbow projects. I think I have the most scraps in the color green, with the most diversity. I'm not sure all greens work well together. do you?

I am enjoying the end of the rainbow quilt. Each color is different and the fact that each "made" fabric is different makes it interesting.
After the fabric is "made" it is very simple to assemble the block. It's a great scrap buster. More on this ...

end of rainbow book found from Making A Lather

Recently, my computer mouse and I have been at odds. I think I am in charge, and he thinks otherwise. I have a little finger tremble, and I am going places I didn't plan. Recently, I deleted comments unintentionally. The delete button is right next to the publish button, and I am thinking publish, and, the stupid mouse is thinking go further to the delete button. I am so sorry and sad. Is there a way to get them back on blogger. sigh..... Oh and the keyboard thinks I can't spell.

I am so relieved and excited to ...

rsc end of rainbow from Making A Lather

I have both red and yellow string pieces made and cut for the end of the rainbow quilt. I have a bad habit of carrying a book around with me and putting it down at some point without even thinking about it. If I have a few minutes, I might grab it to read, or I might carry it to my bedroom for a before bed look, or I might carry it to the cutting table, or the kitchen table, or ....The book with the pattern is hiding right now,

But, not before I have cut all the background pieces ...

seeing red from Making A Lather

I sorted through my red scrap drawer and used up any smaller pieces. The bigger pieces I sorted by whether they would look good with a white background or a cream background. So far, most of the rainbow quilts I am making use a white background. I may have to challenge myself to make a cream based quilt rainbow style. Oh, I just thought of something - squirrel

I made checkerboards in red for Cynthia Brunz's design woven checkerboard. She blogs at Quilting is more fun than housework. This is the second quilt of hers I am doing for the ...
