Found: Signature Quilt from Lost Quilt Come Home Page

Donna Boots is looking for help in locating family members of the makers of a signature quilt from most likely the 1940’s.  Genealogical research indicates that some of the names on the quilt may have ties to Oklahoma.  Donna bought this signature quilt at an auction in New Mexico, in an area where retirement communities are popular among military families, which makes it likely the quilt has been moved from it’s original home.

Stolen: Cathedral Window/Mariner’s Compass Quilt from Lost Quilt Come Home Page

Patricia Winship is asking for help with finding a Cathedral Window Quilt with a Mariner’s Compass made of blue, green, and yellow fabrics with some red accents and a red backing fabric. The Mariner’s Star has 64 points.  Patricia machine pieced and quilted this stunning queen size quilt.

Hand appliqued on the lower left corner is a quilt label,

Lost: Embroidered Cactus Table Runner from Lost Quilt Come Home Page

Susan Johnson is asking for help in locating a table runner that she recently made. The embroidered cactus table runner is approximately 30” by 16”
machine pieced and appliqued with embroidered Christmas and succulent cacti.

Susan last saw the table runner on August 18, 2018 in Muskegon, MI when it was shipped to her granddaughter in Kansas City. It was supposed to be delivered to Harrison Street in Kansas City, MO, but was never received there.

Lost: Blue Plate Special Quilt from Lost Quilt Come Home Page

Coffee cup embroidered into center of each dresden plate block

Ricky McKaig is asking for help in finding a quilt she made in 2010, which she called Blue Plate Special.  Ricky described her quilt in this way, “The quilt is a hand made Dresden Plate design, various blue fabrics making up the “plate” design with a white and blue embroidered coffee cup design in the middle of each plate. The plates are appliqued onto blue and white striped fabric. Each corner block is appliqued on blue fabric.”

Stolen: Disney Quilt from Lost Quilt Come Home Page

Cheryl Haynes is looking for a quilt that was stolen from the Jimmie B Keel Library Bookstore in Tampa, Florida on May 29, 2018.  Cheryl’s quilt “Disney from my childhood” was made in 1987 of blue and white fabric with Disney characters hand embroidered into individual squares.  It was pieced, appliqued, and quilted by hand.  Additionally, the quilt is labeled with the following handwritten message:  “The very best place to be is in a loving family”. The label might also say Cheryl Davis or Cheryl Haynes and the Haynes family Disney quilt.

Missing: Gray Bird at Dusk Quilt from Lost Quilt Come Home Page

Julie Bagamary reports that a grey and white 28″ x 23″ quilt was stolen from the Mountain Made Gallery in Ashville, North Carolina.  It was last seen at the gallery on July 29, 2018.  This quilt uses all batik fabrics,with a heavily hand embroidered large gray bird on a post. It was machine pieced and hand appliqued.
There is a label on the back of the quilt which reads, “Gray Bird At Dusk”

Found: Beautiful Asian styled quilt with pandas and dragons from Lost Quilt Come Home Page

I’ve been contacted by a quilter who is looking for the owner of this very unique item. Kathleen Bell wrote: “Does anyone recognize this two-sided quilt? It was given to me (Kathleen Bell) by a person who had no idea of its origin. It was most likely picked it up at a thrift store in Florida. It has no label.
This quilt is the quiltmaker’s original design, measuring 49” by 62”.
The quilt has definite Asian influences, with pandas and dragon embellishments and silk as well as cotton navy blue, red and multi-colored fabrics used. Of the quilt ...

Here are a few more embroidered door hangers that I've made:




These patterns are from my vintage iron-on transfer embroidery pattern collection.  I've been collecting them for years and years.  I find them at flea markets and antique shops.  I've bought a few from Ebay and Etsy too.  And on rare occasion, I get lucky and find them at garage sales!
