this and that from Making A Lather

I visited with my endocrinologist, last week, and my diabetic numbers are down from the first part of the pandemic, but still need a little more help. We talked about how I haven't been exercising, with the pandemic rising and cold weather. I have been afraid to go to the gym. She said she thought it would be safe enough, since, they have more than likely been following protocols. hmm.. She is a doctor, so today, I will start going to the gym again. Wish me luck.... that I don't get sick, and that, I can do more ...

leader and enders from Making A Lather

I just wanted to sew a little, so I grabbed the leader/enders near my machine, and made a few. I haven't felt well - it wasn't covid. It has been hard to want to sew.

I think I am on the mend, and these cute baskets are part of good medicine.

to do: take it easy from Making A Lather

I had a chance to make easy breezy blocks, now that, the shoofly blocks are finished, Apparently, I am trying 2 sizes. The bigger one using 2 inch squares, and, the smaller one using 1 1/2 inch squares. So far, I am still using squares that I already have in my square bins. Eventually, I will have to cut from strips.

2 inch squares

oops, I see one turned wrong

more to do: finish the patriotic quilt so I can move on to my other projects.

shoofly done from Making A Lather

It's official, I have used all the 1-1/2 inch hsts that I cut and made for shoofly. I have 170 blocks of last year's leader/ender challenge. Bonnie Hunter does a challenge every year. This year is easy breezy. I have a few sewn of easy breezy, but, I wanted to sew all the shoofly blocks before I get busy on those.

shoo shoo from Making A Lather

I have more shoofly blocks finished. I have at least 100 of these, and, my goal is 160. At this point, most of my corners are cleanups, and, not necessarily matching. All my favorite sets have been made, and, I am trying to use the last of the hsts. I am not wasting any of them. Once I trimmed a gazillion 1 1/2 inch hsts, I wasn't about to let them go to the infinite string/ crumb bucket of shame.

I, occasionally, add an easy breezy little block as a leader /ender, just to see how it looks ...

easy breezy from Making A Lather

I wanted to try a neutral background for my psp20 blocks. I didn't use a single piece for the light background 1 1/2 inch squares. I just used anything hanging around in the basket I had on hand. I realized I might want to add more dark and light blocks to my growing pile. But, mostly, I will make my blocks according to the color of the month for the rainbow scrap challenge.

I've been adding a few easy breezy blocks each week. I find that, when I poke around in my 2 or 1 1/2 ...

to do: cut more from Making A Lather

I have had a little fun with Bonnie Hunter's new leader / ender challenge. Easy Breezy is much easier than shoofly. With shoofly, I felt I had to practically make the block, before I could go back to my regular project. I went through my 2 inch strips, and, I collected a small batch of 4 matching squares. I didn't have as many as I had hoped. I will need to cut more from strips. But, I did get to play with a few blocks.

I am still chasing down the last of the shoofly blocks to finish making ...

easy breezy from Making A Lather

Bonnie Hunter of quiltville has announced a new leader/ender challenge for the next year. It's called easy breezy, and, it looks to be just that. She has given the directions for 2 sizes, a 6 inch and a 4 inch. It has taken me awhile to decide what I want to do. And, I am not sure I have. My first thought was to make the bigger block, since, we did little last time, and, I didn't get very far. But, it occurred to me that, if, I make the smaller size, I can use that with ...
