Sparkle Jane Finish from Wedding Dress Blue

It is good that this quilt didn’t end up as an eternal UFO or in a scrap bag.

It was worth the finish.

Funny thing is that Daughter (Sparkle Jane) sort of planned on donating the quilt, but now that it is finished…

You know how that can happen.

Another Small Wedding Gift from Wedding Dress Blue

Sparkle Jane also wanted to make a gift.  After all, the bride is her best friend. The color contrast between the house and the inner border doesn’t show very well in these pictures, but it works in real life.

A personalized pillow seemed perfect.

She does very fine embroidery work.  Remember, the entire door is only about 2″ tall.

I hope they will enjoy it in their new home.

Sparkle Success from Wedding Dress Blue

Sparkle Jane’s (Daughter) latest quilt is complete.

The quilting went smoothly–her precise piecing and meticulous pressing makes such a difference.

The combination of sizes made for some interesting challenges with partial seams as she assembled the units. The Texas fabric is present in the front and makes most of the back.  She used the 2-1/2 yards she had really well.

It is a gift and will be delivered sometime later on this week.

Some Sparkle Jane from Wedding Dress Blue

Long-time followers are familiar with my daughter, known as Sparkle Jane.  She is now 17 and a senior in high school.  It wasn’t that long ago…they grow up fast.

With all the demands of life she doesn’t quilt as regularly as in the past, but she does do some.

This top is a recent finish…

Hopefully to be quilted soon.

ps–The pattern is my design, inspired by THIS pattern.  But we resized it and measured so it isn’t paper pieced.  I know some people love paper piecing.  And I am very happy for them. And ...
