What’s New for ’22 from Stash Overflow

You would think that I would have posted regularly in 2020 and 2021 because of the lockdown. I have no idea why I didn’t. I was very productive. For awhile last year I was dropping off or picking up quilts from my long-armer every week or two. I haven’t counted lately but I must have at least a dozen to bind. Yikes! The biggest news is that Ladies of the Sea is among those to be bound. Yay! It came back from the quilter a few months ago. I had some finishing work to do: embroidering some missing ...

Design Wall Monday - August 30, 2021 from Small Quilts and Doll Quilts

Good Morning Quilters!  if you recall, two weeks ago I blogged that I had started a baby blanket for a future, unknown Great Grandchild. Picture of the start of it:   Blog post here  I found the matching yarn skein, “Soft White”  to finish the project and took it with us on the drive to the wedding last week.  I worked on it all the way to Delaware and all the way back to Michigan!  Here is the

Over lapjes, 'n B&B, quilts, lapjes en collega's,...." from Supergoof Quilts

May Update from Thread Head

This past month I finished a few projects that had been in the works for a long time!

This is a Baby Jane (small Dear Jane) quilt that I started in 2012. I made blocks here and there, and finally decided that there was enough to make a wall hanging (I never had the intention to make the full size quilt). The blocks are about 4" and the quilt is 33"x39".

It fits perfect with the wall quilts in the sewing room.

These are small art quilts that I made in 2013 (I challenged myself to make a small ...

UFO Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

UFOs are NOT unidentified flying objects. At least, not in the world of quilting! Nope - that means UNFINISHED OBJECT. And there are a ton of other acronyms that have so cleverly been put together over the years. OH MY -- I just found a site with a LOT of acronyms. Check them out! Some pretty funny ones.

Before I get to the show and tell, I need to clarify one small detail about my wee rant yesterday. Some people sign up for classes with excellent intentions. Then life deals them a blow, and they are not able to continue or even ...

The way home from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What's with the crazy weather? We had crazy rain for most of the day, and how about that wind? I don't think we had any issues at our house, but you can hear the house creaking in the wind, and those little bathroom vents flap like crazy!

The girls were thrilled to see me, and I managed to walk with each of them between the rain. I got lucky because this wasn't just rain - it was torrential rain driven by the wind. Fortunately, whenever the rain started, I was snuggled up with a quilt in my chair ...

Jacks Chain Quilt with Dear Jane Blocks from On Point Quilter

My friend Sherry Perry recently posted a picture on her Facebook account of a Dear Jane quilt she did in the Jack's Chain layout.
Dear Jane Exchange Quilt by Sherry Perry of Maple Grove MN
Scroll down to see a tutorial on how to create this layout (with blocks of your choice) using Electric Quilt.
I met Sherry when we were part of a fledgling group that met monthly to talk about and work on our Dear Jane quilts.  The group was formed in 2000 by JoAnn Atkins at a local quilt shop.

The group ended up enjoying being ...

Vier ...

Dear Jane Revisited from On Point Quilter

Electric Quilt just released the Dear Jane Add-on for EQ.  As I have been playing with the new software this week, I have also been reflecting on my Dear Jane journey.  In this post I will share a part of that journey (and a few of my Dear Jane quilts).  I will also share a really cool new feature from the add-on software in my EQ8 video tutorial.

My Dear Jane Journey

My love of Dear Jane began in June 2000 (almost 20 years ago) when a new guild was being started by JoAnn Atikins (now the owner of Four ...

Dear Jane Row D from Espritpatch

My poor Dear Jane must feel abandoned again. I had blocks with me on every one of my work trip but I did stitch one thread at all. No time on the way in or while away and no energy left after the business meetings so no sewing on the way back either. Finally I managed to pick it up again during the Christmas break and finished D2 Mouse in the Mirror. This one was started in October during our last holidays.

We had so many hours in the car that I also managed to complete D12 Crossed Swords
And ...

A blast from the past from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yipeee - it's a FREE day today. I have one thing on the calendar and it's totally my call if I go or not. It's a used book sale - of course, I'm going!

I bailed from the meeting I was supposed to go to last night. After the three classes and all the stuff that went on in the last couple of weeks, I was tired. So I came home, had dinner with DH and then sat and read my book. It was glorious! I even ignored my alarm this morning. Well, after I shut it off ...

Jana´s Quilt-Sampler from Sticksuse

Lange, lange hat es gedauert.

Nun ist er endlich fertig.

Mein Quilt-Sampler.
