Lilla Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I've so many pictures to post this week. I transferred a pile from my phone to the computer this morning and was merrily editing them and waiting for the microwave to finish cooking my oatmeal. Oh dear - I must have messed up the timer as that microwave seemed to be going on and on. Sure enough, the oatmeal was like rubber when I checked it. Oops! Must have added one extra digit to the 3:30 minutes. Let's just say that I cooked a new batch and it's just right!!!

I keep a book with the homework ...

Show n tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm making this a wee bit short n sweet this morning. I'm off to a training course for most of the week. It's in town so I'm not away which is good because I've got a wee bit of work to get done in the evenings. It means that my paperwork is going to sit for the week. Too bad because I was starting to feel like I was making headway. Hopefully, nothing piles up while I'm occupied this week.

Ah - so you want to know about the magazine quilt? It has a binding ...

In the nick of time................. from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Last night brought to a close the fourth of five major events that were happening in the last month. One more to go! I think I might make it! But before that last event is over, I've got a ton of class prep to do for next weekend and I've got to finish my UFO for 11 AM this morning!

I honestly didn't get a chance to get outside the PFAFF booth during the show. Lots of people stopped by to say hello and I must say it was great to meet some new blog followers and ...

A surprise from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

One of the things I love about using the courier system to send/receive packages is that you get a notification that something is coming or when something arrives.

I recently used some fabric from Riley Blake Designs for a magazine quilt. The fabric and the resulting quilt are so darn cute. That was one of the boxes that I received from them a while back. That quilt is already made and delivered. Then I got a notification that I was receiving another package from Riley Blake Designs? Oh, what's in here as I hadn't ordered anything more ...

It's all about the bike! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

While I haven't been out on my bike yet this year, that doesn't mean that I don't think about my bike!

OR bicycle fabric!

Margaret mentioned that she was bringing the "scarf" fabric with her. What the heck was she talking about? I remember we chatted about fabric that could be used for an infinity scarf, but for the life of me, I couldn't remember what the print was. She had purchased it for me at a Fabricland in Eastern Canada.

AHA - I got the fabric yesterday. Oh - this will make a blouse! OMG - did you ...

Is free a good thing? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Here's an age-old dilemma. How much free stuff is too much?

Let's take the instance of quilt patterns. Lots of fabric companies will have their staff or an outside designer design a "free pattern". In this instance, free patterns will always use a specific fabric collection. The idea is that you, the customer will like the pattern, download it and then search out that fabric and make the quilt. There's a cost to the fabric company of having the staff design and write the pattern (they could be doing something else) or they will pay a fee ...

The lost art of cooking from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I know the title of this post does NOT coincide with me and my reluctance to cook! For years I was happy to make a stop at Tim's for breakfast, for snacks, for lunch or whenever I needed something to eat. If it wasn't Tim's, it was somewhere else. Not that I was a fast food junkie, but I was quite happy to leave the house with NOTHING to eat in my possession and forage along the way. Some days, everything I ate came from outside my house. Now, how silly, unhealthy and expensive is that?

Since ...

CreativFestival - Set up day from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

My "most" favorite day of any show - set up day. Things got off to a slow start as we waited for our stuff to arrive. But once it did, we set to work like busy little bees to get all the tables dressed, the machines up and running and all the pretty samples out for view. I was even commandeered to thread a serger - it appears that no one likes this job. I haven't threaded a conventional serger in a few years - make that many years (I have an auto threading serger), but I managed on my second try ...

YOU are the best!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I want to thank all of YOU for reading my blog. I've learned so much and located many things from my readers and I truly appreciate that!

Here's what's happened lately. I got a taker for the teal fabric. The fabric and her address are sitting on the ironing board. I hope to make it to the PO today.  I've got a ton of stuff to do today so I might not make it. Thanks to Terri for offloading that from my stash.

From Laura, I got an e-mail about two specific properties in New Orleans ...
