My Little Pony Chromies! The Most Fun Fail – Crafting with Kids from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

The Future Quilter is OBSESSED with My Little Pony. I don’t even want to know how many pony figurines we have in the house between the stuffed animals, plastic toys, squishy gel like like things with giant heads. It is a little out of control.

But of course I had to add to the MLP overload when I saw My Little Pony Chromies. I immediately ordered a set so she could color her own Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash.

Well … this was one craft toy that didn’t turn out anything like the photo and it had nothing to ...

Foam Flower Bouquet was awesome! – Crafting with Kids from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

I just love a good craft kit and the Flower Surprise Crafting Kids from Happy Cube was awesome.

I got this on Zulily, for way less than the retail price and it came with everything my daughter and I needed to make a foam flower bouquet. This craft kit is recommended for ages 5+, but my four-year-old had a great time with it. The flowers don’t look as good as the picture, but we had a blast.

Watch the video and get inspired to make something with your kids.

The whole reason I started crafting with kids was to give parents and grandparents ideas of activities they can do to encourage kids to be creative, develop problem solving techniques and teach them that they can create anything. Those are all great skills to have in life and ...

Mermaid Doll-Making Kit … Crafting Win or Hot Mess? – Crafting with Kids from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

I was five when “The Little Mermaid” came out, and I was OBSESSED with Ariel. I sang the soundtrack constantly, and I can’t sing, was a mermaid for Halloween and remember asking my mom if I could dye my hair red. She thankfully told me no.

When I watched the Disney classic with my daughter for the first time, I was really excited when she too fell in love with my favorite Disney princess. After all, I now had an excuse to watch my favorite kids move as a 30-something adult.

So when I found a Mermaid Doll-Making Kit ...

How to Make a Pillowcase – Sewing with Kids – featuring the Future Quilter and Ponies from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

I am constantly making things with my daughter. It is a combination of her seeing me constantly being creative and wanting to be like mom, and my belief that creativity helps kids thrive by teaching them new ways to think and solve problems.

So we are going to be doing a new occasional series at Quilt Addicts Anonymous about sewing and crafting with kids. My daughter just turned four, so we are going to be doing age-appropriate crafts and I’ll talk about how you can adapt them for different aged kids, either giving them more or less responsibility depending ...
