productivity . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

It's been a productive week and I've gotten in some quality time towards my crafts (and I use that word in the highest sense of its definition) almost every day, thanks to some lunch time stitching.  In the class I'm taking we started to put together our first block, which I was able to finish:
It's a small class this go around, which is nice ... everyone gets the one-on-one if they need it. I'm learning some new things, too, which is awesome!

I decided to go ahead and make a fabric spreadsheet, to help me ...

back-up beeps . . . from Count it *all* JOY!

I realized that before I could share more about my quilt shop adventures, I had to have pics of my purchases, which I haven't taken yet.  Mainly because I've been going pretty much non-stop since I got home from California!  Then I also realized I wanted to share my quilt-related Christmas haul, and that I could also share some quilt finishes (of which I had FOUR in December)! So let me start with those . . .
All three girls were super happy with their Christmas quilts! They're so sweet! ♥
Leia even got in there and tested its catability. It ...

We are thankful! from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

At this time of year, we like to pause and be thankful for the many blessings in our lives. As a small company, Through the Needle's Eye has so many things that fill us with gratitude. Our cornucopia overflows with thanksgiving!

THANK YOU TO . . .

Our many blog readers. Since we began our blog in 2015, it has received over 321,000 page views. We have over 1500 readers who receive our blog by email, and we aren't sure how many more through Bloglovin'Quilters Blogs, other blog sites, social media, or other means. But we are so grateful ...

HOW CREATIVE IS YOUR BIAS? from ATTIC WINDOW QUILT SHOP

Just a reminder.  You can make this bias table topper with me on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Attic Window Quilt Shop.  Call the shop to register and get a supply list.
This is a closeup of one of the blocks.  You don't have to do any FMQ if you don't want.  I'm not an expert in that.  I really like to use the walking foot to do the quilting.  You can do whatever you want with those open spaces.  Maybe add more bias strips.  Maybe add some embroidery. Or try your hand had FMQ.  I hope ...

Keep It Classy, Please! from From the Strawberry Patch...

I don't often get on my soapbox; particularly here. I'm stepping up for  a moment, allow me to say something that has been bubbling under the surface for a while. You need not agree with me, that's fine; I simply need to speak up on the subject of respect. Respect for self, respect for others, apparently this concept is in short supply these days. What am I referring to? Language-- particularly

Bead Embroidery from Completely Blocked

The International Quilt Festival in Houston was amazing, as always. It’s so incredibly inspiring to see all of the quilts and quilt-related pieces that people have made. It was the 40th anniversary of the International Quilt Festival, and as part of the celebration they had a huge collection of red and white quilts on display.

The classes I took there were great, too. I learned how to do reverse appliqué by machine, how to work in a single colour to make small collage quilts, and how to sew with silk. I also got some great tips on getting more ...

Little Red Fish from Completely Blocked

I’m going to the International Quilt Festival in Houston again this fall, and I’ve signed up for a couple of classes there. Going through this year’s class listings, I started thinking about the classes I’ve taken there in the past. I have some partly finished projects from those classes, and it seems like a good idea to dig those out and finish them. I have a bad habit of bringing things home from classes and putting them away, adding them to the stack of UFOs hidden in the closet.

This one is from two years ago ...
