read moreLast weekend, I attended a quilting retreat, my first in two years. Everyone in attendance was double vaccinated and our tables were spaced apart. I brought along 4 projects plus some mending to work on over the three days of the retreat. My husband gave me a nifty folding cart for my birthday in February 2020 and this was my first chance to use it since I got it. With the cart, I was able to bring in all my sewing stuff in one trip as well as my overnight bag.

Last Saturday, after writing a pattern I decided I wanted to spend the rest of the day sewing. I actually wanted to see if I could make a quilt with some test blocks I had. You know that when I test blocks I try to use similar fabrics for many of them so, down the line, I can just put them together into a quilt. That was my mood that day.

read moreI had some great Christmas gifts from my hubby. Probably a big favorite is my new mister for spray starch. He also bought a gallon of best press. I really like how it works. At our last sew in, the hostess made home made spray starch with vodka. It worked great too, but, I wouldn't know my way around a liquor store. I plan on starching everything. haha
