Koala Kapers: Colour & Inspiration Tuesday from Clever Chameleon

Koala Kapers, an appliqué colour board from the Clever Chameleon

What are you up to this week?

I have been doing mostly secret sewing….. lots of fun stuff for Island Batik and a little for a New Zealander designer too, but not much I can show right now.

Love with a twist button

Luckily there is one thing that is 100% mine to show though. I have been working on the first balloon animal appliqué for March. I will say, I have fallen in love with this next block of Love with a Twist…. a Kuddly Koala!

Of course we can take a peek at what others have been working on recently too. There were ...

In this post you will find my first lap-size quilt top constructed pre-appliqué and a pdf download of the instructions so you can start yours too. Of course, it is not necessary to pre-assemble your quilt top before you applique the blocks. You can definitely choose to ...

New pattern: Let's Play, a fat quarter friendly child's quilt from Carried Away Quilting

When I think back on my children’s early years, I remember that quilts were a big part of their daily lives. Quilts made for snuggling became fort quilts and backyard picnic quilts. I also remember how often a quilt became a play mat where Luke would line up his trucks, cars, tractors and action figures and let his imagination go to town.

My newest quilt pattern, Let’s Play, was designed to feature inspiring juvenile fabrics and encourage play. It’s fat quarter friendly and finishes at 48” x 57”, the perfect size for a child’s quilt. From ...
