Charity Quilting from Becca's Crazy Projects

I found a great tutorial to make some fun blocks using 2.5" strips. It just so happened, I had a collection of suitable strips. The pattern is Stashbuster #7: Color Slat, by Just Get It Done Quilts.
I used fifteen blocks to make the center of the quilt and added a 1" inner border and a 3" outer border. This brings the quilt up to about 38" by 44" which is pretty standard for a Quilts for Kids quilt. I see more of these in my future.

If you want to contribute but don't have the time or ...

Cradle Quilts Update from From My Carolina Home

Happy Mail this week brought more Cradle Quilts for the drive. I am just blown away by the generosity of readers who not only make the quilts, but pay to ship them to me. One day there were five packages to pick up! How fun is this! And I know there are more on the way.

Thank you so much to Angie P who sent 12 cradle quilts, many with little boy prints of basketball players.

And to Kathie L who sent 4 in fabulous bright colors.

Thank you to Niki B, whose hearts and rainbow designs are sure ...

Trip Around the World from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sometimes I get a crazy idea. This time it was to make a Trip Around the World charity quilt using leftovers from quilt backings and fabric given to me. I picked my focus fabric and a collection of seven prints. I cut my squares at 3.5" by 3.5" and got sewing. I pieced two rows at a time, working from the outside in. This quilt will come together quickly.
You can find many tutorials on how to make a quilt like this. The hardest part is keeping the colors straight so you get the right finish. I'm ...
