Brook Bottlebrush 19, 20 from Virtual Quilter

It is nice to see some healthy green … it has been a very hot and dry summer around here.

I love this project file … with the green Brook Blocks and flowers of the Bottlebrush shrubs which manage to survive drought conditions.

I like the four subdued pieced blocks around the centre. I think they add a lot of interest to the design.

Pieced blocks for the background spaces, with Bottlebrush designs on plain blocks … I like it.

I like the first design, but the second one is my favourite today.

Brook Bottlebrush 11, 12 from Virtual Quilter

This project file could be useful if you get sick of putting together pieced blocks, or get tired of doing applique! Or perhaps run out of fabric for the applique but have a lot of the background fabric.

I must try making a wider variety of quilt settings, even just straight sets can be made with a lot less blocks than I usually play with.
