Spring Quilt Market - Recap from Creatin' in the Sticks

I was so excited to attend my first International Quilt Market and have now fully recovered from the trip and catching up at my day job.

The spring quilt market was held in Kansas City this year which made it so easy for me to attend.
Add to that my friend Joyce just opened a quilt shop and was excited to check out market too.

International Quilt Market is a credentialed trade show and not open to the general public
although, most of the new fabrics and patterns seem to be shown on the internet before the market even starts ...

Charm Pack Tree Skirt Quilt Along from The Crafty Quilter

Hi everyone! I’m so happy to be sharing my version of the Charm Pack Tree Skirt, a Fat Quarter Shop Shortcut Quilt. This is a fast and fun project that I loved making!

Charm Pack Tree Skirt Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop!
Charm Pack Tree Skirt pattern by Fat Quarter Shop

I used two charm packs of Vintage Holiday by Bonnie & Camille for Moda Fabrics. The pattern requires 48 (5″) squares plus two yards of background fabric. I used Vintage Holiday Silver Metallic Dots for the background and Vintage Holiday Pink & Red Bias Candy Stripe fabric for the binding.

my day in the
Be a Diamond Blog Hop.

Carol at Just Let Me Quilt is hosting this blog hop

Stripe Me a Diamond.

It's string pieced on a foundation and then the diamond shape is paper pieced.

I started by drawing my own diamond paper pieced quilt block in Electric Quilt.

Diamonds Are Forever… from Seams To Be Sew

When I signed up for this blog hop it was in my mind to show off the baby blanket I had just finished for my new grand nephew who was born at the end of January. I spent each day working on this quilt for just a little bit of time over the last year or so, and all of the blocks were created entirely in my machine embroidery hoop. Sadly, when I went to take the pictures off the camera today something has happened to the flash card and every file on the card seems to be corrupted… I ...

F is for… Typecast of Characters Blog Tour! from Flying Parrot Quilts

I am notoriously slow at English Paper Piecing—my La Passacaglia project has been untouched for some time—but when Sheri of Whole Circle Studio asked me to piece one of the letters in her new EPP alphabet, I knew that was a manageable size of project! I first met Sheri through the Craftsy Quilt Designer Fellowship, of which she was the first winner, where she was incredibly generous with her advice. So I was really happy to be asked to piece the letter F, for Flying Parrot Quilts. This is what it looks like:

I chose some text fabric ...

Stripes and Strings… All About Strings Today At Seams To Be Sew… from Seams To Be Sew

Tis quite funny as I prepared for this hop with my project, I kept thinking Stripes and not Strings, but quite by accident my project fits into both words… A big thanks to Carla for hosting this blog hop theme and I must say I am looking forward to what everyone created. I once made a striped quilt, back in the 90’s, Jinny Beyer did quite a few lines with border type stripes that became popular to fussy cut your shapes out of and then combine them to create a new look to the print. It was an awesome ...

I love blog hops, they are so much fun and it is a great way for me to see things that people are doing around the web. I try to get to every site during a blog hop so that I can see what everyone is doing. I don’t normally just visit one post for there featured day, but I look thru the last few posts because it’s fun to see what they have been doing and especially sites that I don’t get to very often. Novelty fabrics have long been a favorite fabric type of mine ...
