Feeling out of control from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

NO --- I do not feel out of control today, but have you ever experienced that? You have no control over your life. Things are just piling up, and you're not happy? People driving you made? Deadlines looming? OK -- so I often feel out of control. Do you know what makes it all go away?

By DOING! How many times have we agonized over doing something? The deadline looms closer, and we're still feeling out of control. Have you ever noticed that writing a list of the steps, starting the project, or at least getting organized will immediately calm ...

Happiness is decluttering - 10 years strong! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Sadly, I didn't get to the Oakville fiber show, but that's OK. It's a lesson to learn that I must plan my life a bit better. I did have a date planned back in November, but that got sidetracked, and I SHOULD have rescheduled a date in December. So, while I'm sad I couldn't make it, learn from my mistakes and don't do it again!

It seemed like I was busy the entire day, and do I have anything to show for it? Not much -- it was one of those days where I tried ...

How much storage does one person need? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

You WILL not believe the email that I got yesterday! I couldn't help but laugh. Just when I thought I was on top of things.

My Google One storage is almost full!

So here's the thing --- I have Microsoft Office on my computer. And they are desperately trying to get me to move to their web landing page -- Edge or something like that. But I'm a Google person, and so I like the Google landing page. And I have STORAGE with Google, and that's the one that is now showing 91% full!

Oh - I see that ...

I got a NEW COMPUTER!!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- so technically, I did NOT get a new computer, BUT with everything I did yesterday, it sure acts like a new computer. It's FAST! I don't hear the hard disk laboring. Searches are FAST, and they seem to be complete.

YES -- I know I should know better -- I have some knowledge of computers. I just didn't realize what was happening, and it mostly had to do with OneDrive, which I started using several years ago. The bottom line? I'm way more knowledgeable because something "bad" happened. That's how we learn in anything! Miskates are ...

Snowballs! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh dear --- the quilt history story is NOT happening again this morning. A bit pressed for time, and I want to do some more research, so we'll have to hand tight on that one.

I think I will have to shop for a pair of jeans. I knew the thigh part was going to start to have holes, and I saw the first one poking its head out. YES -- I know having holes in your jeans is fashionable, but I'm OK with no holes. But that means a shopping trip, which is not one of my favorite things ...

On reading a book from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Shoot -- I was going to tell you the disturbing story about quilt history, and I know I won't have time before I have to leave for spin class. I started it, but I'll have to finish it another day.

I have no idea what is happening these days. I spend time in Studio B, but I don't seem to have much to show for it. Why is that?

Part of the reason is I was doing paperwork in the morning, and I only completed some of what I wanted to do as I was late to start ...

Two girls and a boy from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

At last -- the final two distribution lists are recreated! The more I put people into my contact list, the easier it became. The dates for the UFO Club are set, and all that remains is to send a couple of emails, which should NOT take long. I hope to get it all completed today!

Part of the homework follow-up from yesterday is done, and I should be good to get everything finished TODAY. That will be awesome. That was on my list of paperwork to finish before the end of the year, but with that little hiccup I had, it ...

My year in books from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I love prepping the presentations for a class! I get to run around the house like a crazy person - and take pictures - well, first, I might have to sew something. Then, I take what I think are clear and understood pictures.

The next step is to email them to me so I can add them to the presentation. After adding pictures to the presentation, I reviewed the slides and put them in order. Some pictures get rejected -- what seemed like a good picture at the time says absolutely NOTHING. Why did I even take it?

And just like writing a ...

Flip, not rotate from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I don't know why it's taking me so long to get back into the swing of things this year! It's only January 5th, but I usually have all the class stuff done in December. I finally got all the software club information to the three stores, so watch for that. The clubs are scheduled to start the first week of February --- Brampton Sew and Serge, Stitch by Stitch, and Thimble Quilts and Sewing.

Now, you can call them and ask or simply be on their newsletter/e-mail list, and you'll get the information.

There are still ...

Company!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The e-mail recreation continues. The only people I have yet to contact are those in the UFO groups and the Heartfelt Sampler. But if you were interested in anything else (Many Blocks, Out of the Box, Machine Embroidery, Digital Cutter), you should have received an e-mail from me. If you have NOT, send me a note, and I'll add you to the appropriate list.

Then, once that is organized, I can delete the rest of the class e-mails for 2023. That's going to free up a whole lot of space!

Based on some of the advice I've ...

Saying good-by is such sweet sorrow from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It feels pretty weird to be sitting in a hotel room, and I don't have to be "on duty" until 9 AM. And it's five AM. Whatever will I do with myself for four hours! Well, I have to write the blog, and I'm going for a walk, and perhaps I'll find a geocache or two to give me something to do. I did NOT get all my KMs in yesterday. I missed it by 4 km, which is still pretty good considering I did NOT have a proper walk with the girls and the boy ...

That's "interesting!" from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Hmm -- some interesting comments on the blog. Some of us joke that when someone says "interesting," it can have a negative connotation, as in - you see someone wearing something you don't like or think is inappropriate. You politely say, "Oh, that's an interesting outfit!"

But that is not the case for the comments. Someone mentioned going to a one-car family that I would be giving up my independence. Hmm --- that is NOT the case at our house.

Both of us work from home and have for years. I walk to EVERYTHING in my neighborhood - the doctor, the dentist ...

Can too much excitement kill you? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The show MUST go on! For whatever reason, my internet at home isn't happy this morning. At first, I thought it was my computer, but I didn't have much open. But even after restarting the computer, it wouldn't work, so I'm currently using my cell phone as a hotspot, and I'm connected!

I have two Zoom this morning, so let's hope that everything is back to normal by then, although I can use my phone to hotspot if need be. And I'm happy to report that the presentations are DONE! I could have ...

Welcome to Canada! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I love living close to the airport. Our house is not situated under a flight path, we are slightly to the south, although we can see when planes land at both runways and there are occasions when we can hear the planes. We are close enough to identify the airline of the planes! But it's such a low noise, dependent on the cloud cover, and we don't hear the wheels open nor the takeoff and landing noises that I'm OK with it. I love watching the planes come in.

But there is another reason I love living ...

Do you worry? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I have to say that I'm super PROUD of my kid! While we don't always agree, she has a head on her shoulders and didn't panic!

She's been in Turkey for the last couple of weeks. She met up with a couple of friends, and they've been having a blast by the look of the pictures. They were initially going to Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt, but thankfully, they changed their plans. I did not say anything. It's not my vacation and not my life!

Now, it was time for her to return, and she ...

Making journal covers from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Well, I'm madly making or prepping samples for my adventures, which start again next week. This time, it's all about the Husqvarna Viking DESIGNED EPIC 3

At the convention, we made components of a journal cover as we learned the various new features, but they needed to be assembled. Of course, I had to change the assembly method a wee bit. I have a great way to make a journal cover that doesn't require hand stitching to close it up! Here's a link to my tutorial.

That tutorial will explain how to make a journal cover ...

Learn to use your time wisely! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What can I say -- but yesterday was an AMAZING day!! Yep -- I'm better, and I've got a plan, and I'm motivated, and well, what more could I ask for?

I know - sleep. Seriously -- can you tell me why one is wide awake at 1:30 (a bit too early to get up, even for me!) and then can't go back to sleep for hours? But is it really worth getting up to do something? Then, when you finally wake up, you're exhausted? Thankfully, that doesn't happen often! And the dreams I had -- good grief ...

What's the difference between curiosity and being nosey? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

No naps yesterday! And I did not go to spin class this morning. I'm trying to ensure there are no relapses on this bug that I had. The prognosis is good. I had a slow-down week, but not a dead week! I can work around that, but this week will be super busy, and if I need to nap - well, I nap!

What happens at Virtual Retreat stays at Virtual Retreat, but I will say one thing! We had a blast, and we had some conversations about some pretty serious subjects. It was an eye-opener for me, and with ...

Big dog, little dog from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I feel even better today! All is good! I think I had two naps yesterday, and I got through the Zooms in the morning with no problem. As a matter of fact, I wasn't watching the time and was ready to go on!

And while I was on Zoom, I had company. The big dog and the tiny dog. These are the clingy dogs. Lexi doesn't do stairs, so she's never in Studio B.

The big dog and the tiny dog

But the sun was shining when we were done, and those dogs love the sun. Bear ...

Too many quilts! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

There is good news today! I feel better! Now, before we go and have a party - I'm slightly better. I actually woke up at the "right" time for me, and that makes me feel better. But I had two long naps yesterday. I swear, when I need a nap, I'm not kidding. I need to lie down IMMEDIATELY, or I'll fall asleep on my feet. And I know I'll have at least one nap today -- I just hope I can make it through the two Zooms. I may shorten the walks with the girls this morning ...
