Star Applications 3 from Virtual Quilter

Star Applications 3

I really must change the contrast in this series … stars show up as bright lights in a dark sky, not dark spots in a light sky!

I do like the idea of applique stars instead of the usual pieced blocks though.

Free Motion Quilting is Fun for our Renters from Quilted Joy

There are a variety of different ways to quilt a quilt. First, you can use a design board or groovy board which is a board with grooves carved into it that guides the long arm with a stylus. Then there are paper pantographs, which are long pieces of paper with a design you follow with a laser. Next are rulers to guide the longarm in straight lines or curves. We have a lot of different rulers available. Finally, you can trace the design in the fabric or piecing pattern itself. We can even mount a laser on the top of ...

White on White Gold 13 from Virtual Quilter

White on White Gold 13

The background fabric looks a little less gold than I thought it would, but I love the design. Lots of room for some creative quilting.

Beaded Blocks and Borders 25, 26 from Virtual Quilter

Beaded Blocks and Borders 25

Love the first, and I must remember to cut beads whenever I have scraps of fabric with iron on bonding added.

Beaded Blocks and Borders 26

Of course, I could also just add bonding to any large piece of fabric, especially if it is a multi coloured print, or batik.

The first design would make an interesting quilting design without the coloured bits too.

White Wedding Quilting 12

I think I am in love!

White Wedding Quilting 13

I went to a quilt exhibition yesterday, and bought fabric … and despite sharing a lot of low contrast quilt designs over the last few days, I bought greens, including some brights and darks!

Birds in the Orchard 10 from Virtual Quilter

Birds in the Orchard 10

I love this, but it needs to be quilted, and the big question is  … how would I quilt it?

Lots of space to fill!

Anna Karena 4 from Virtual Quilter

Anna Karena 4

I challenged myself to use blue in at least one series of virtual quilts.

I have never been a fan of blue, but often admire blue quilts … it depends on how well the colour is used, just like any other colour!

I like how this series is turning out, but I don’t think blue will replace green as my favourite colour.

Bubbles 1, 2 from Virtual Quilter

Bubbles 1

Lots of little circles … not all exactly the same size … following the lines of a Double Wedding Ring.

Bubbles 2

They can also form wreaths, and are happy to share some space with a few other shapes.

What I love most about the second design are the random bubbles floating in the corners.

Finish Line Quilt from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

Finish Line Quilt

If you ask Jenny, she really lucked out in the husband department. Ron is kind, patient, and incredibly creative. Best of all? When Jenny is quilting, he doesn’t sit on the sidelines; he quilts WITH her! Over the years Ron has cooked up a few great quilt patterns of his own!

Ann’s Album OP 15, 16 from Virtual Quilter

Ann's Album OP 15

I rather like these designs … and though the colours are a bit dull and moody, I like them.

Ann's Album OP 16

They are colours which would be easy to live with for a long time … not drawing your attention all the time so you get sick of looking at them.
