Interesting design, interesting layout.

Another interesting layout, and I love the results.

Another interesting layout, and I love the results.
read moreBoth these designs are medallion quilts, a large block surrounded by one or two rows of applique blocks, then a frame of plain strip borders.
I love the block designs, love the layouts, love just about every quilt design I have found when playing with the blocks.
Interesting design.
I am thinking that I want some simpler block designs, but will try to simplify some of the current designs rather than introduce totally different blocks. Nothing like setting myself a challenge!
read moreLove the green … waiting patiently for rain so the farms and bush start showing some green again. Not to mention my garden.
I like both designs today … no favourite.

Blue is far from my favourite colour, but it work well in these block designs.
read moreI am wondering how many beaded blocks I have in my collection.
I suspect it may be easier to count the beads than the blocks as some of them are very similar, or neater drawings of the same block.
I like both of these designs.
read moreNice design, and a very interesting border. I wonder if I play with real beads if I could make something like that.
Second design is an interesting collection of block designs.
read moreMore beads, with some of them added over the seam lines between the blocks.
I like both of these, and both of yesterday’s designs.
What is not to like about beads, fabric, plastic, glass, stones … just organise them into a nice line!
The leaf shape of the beads has to be one of the most versatile shapes available for us to use on applique blocks. There must be many millions of possible designs … I should count how many I have drawn up but I am pretty sure I could expand the number by lots if I stop designing quilts with what I already have.
The second design uses the same layout as the first, just the blocks have changes.
read moreIn this project I am using settings mixing different size blocks to create a very individual layout.
Look closely at the second design to see what shape the blocks are … not all of them are square.
read moreThis project file is a new recent addition to my toy box … but I am having fun adding more blocks, changing fabrics, though some fabrics are still plain.
I like the pale backgrounds … I have never tried using such pale fabrics in borders, but it looks very restful.

I love the applique block used in this design.
The first is my favourite, but I like both of them.

…. but are hard to grow in an average garden.
Easier to depict them on a quilt.
read moreInspired by the sunflowers which grow in the garden next door …
…. filling the view from my kitchen window.
read moreThe borders around this one I think should be used closer to the centre … too delicate to use around the outside of a large quilt.
I like the second design a lot more, and it could be used as the centre of a larger quilt.
