Huntington Quilters Guild & Quilts are Made of Memories from Terificreations's Weblog

A big Thank You! to Alyson Jean and Jean Ruvel for the invitation to speak at the Huntington Quilters Guild on Tuesday night. I really enjoyed sharing the quilt stories with you. Over the few days in the car prior to the Trunk Show thoughts of what I’d say flew through my mind and often… Continue reading Huntington Quilters Guild & Quilts are Made of Memories

Quilts, Inc. Threads of Success from Terificreations's Weblog

A relatively long time ago I decided to “go into business”. I had no idea what the heck I was doing. But here I was trying to make things to sell and doing an okay job of it. But it wasn’t quite right. So when a friend and quilter asked me if I’d thought about… Continue reading Quilts, Inc. Threads of Success

Sunday Quilt Inspiration: neutrals from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

I've been working on a couple of projects. All of them use neutrals so I've been had neutrals on my mind for the past week. Well, neutrals and Christmas--there's a conflicting proposition. I suppose one sort of offset the other because I wasn't all antsy and worried about getting everything ready. In fact, we have a wedding in Houston tomorrow and other than to clean house, shop, and finish up gift wrapping, I haven't been worried at all.

An Interview with Alex Anderson from Terificreations's Weblog

Often the work we do is a gift, in part for the work, in part for the people we meet along the way. People who set the tone of engaging quilters to explore the work they do, showing us options for that exploring. As a quilter, like all of us, she leads by example in… Continue reading An Interview with Alex Anderson

Product Review - Acorn Precision Piecing Products from Daphne Greig

Last week I mentioned that I re-connect with friends and colleagues when I am at Quilt Market. I was excited to see some long-time friends with a booth at Market.

I have known Shelley Scott-Tobisch and Bernie Tobisch since the early 90's when they were the Bernina dealer 'inside' Satin Moon Quilt Shop in Victoria. I haven't seen them since they moved to the Vancouver area a long time ago.

Shelley is a very precise piecer - every point matches every time and Bernie is sewing machine technician with over 40 years of experience. I miss having Bernie service ...

You Rule! from Terificreations's Weblog

When the door bell rings, and the guy in brown leaves a box, quickly turning, dashing down the sidewalk before reaching the door, let alone getting it open. Boxes bring stuff, often quilterly stuff. Unless of course, you are my Sweetie then those boxes bring other stuff, not quilt related stuff. While the excitement builds… Continue reading You Rule!

A bit of a round up from Terificreations's Weblog

Over the last couple of years I’ve been switching over to Alex Anderson’s Quilters Select Rulers and Mats. The Quilt Show posted a video of Alex demoing the ruler and mat: and here’s the whole bit in one vid: I keep the 12” x 18” by my sewing machine to square up blocks, and cut… Continue reading A bit of a round up

So then there was the time from Terificreations's Weblog

It seems so long ago, seven years in fact. But forever ago in the world of quilting. Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims along with Jan (Magee) Mark were the brains behind The Quilt Life, a quilting magazine recognizing the reality that, as quilt makers, our lives revolve around quilting. I had the privilege of writing… Continue reading So then there was the time

A needed detour from Terificreations's Weblog

Lately upon entering the sewing room there is a strong sense of being overwhelmed with ideas. Lots of ideas tumbling over, and over each seeking the deserved attention. While writing that sentence an idea to make a whole cloth using 60 weight thread in the top and bobbin popped into my head. I think I’m … Continue reading A needed detour

Quilt Market & Festival from Terificreations's Weblog

I offered to help setting up in the RNK/Quilters Select Booth, getting to meet some of my new co-workers. This has been so much good. I ran into Alex & John Anderson. As you probably know Alex has a line of product with RNK called Quilters Select. Even before I joined the company I started … Continue reading Quilt Market & Festival

So Quilt Market from Terificreations's Weblog

As you read this it is the very last day of Quilt Market. The camera lens, for the most part, has remained covered as I’ve walked the aisles. Debby and I arrived at our hotel within moments of each other. This after she arrived at my house just before 4 AM, whereupon my Sweetie took … Continue reading So Quilt Market
