Tulips while I quilt

My hubby and daughter bought pink tulips with the groceries last week. I hope you’ll agree, they were a very fine decoration to enjoy while I was working on the final stages of my Pond Life quilt. I was particularly struck by the perfect match of the green of the tulip leaves with the greens of my chosen fabrics. So in honour of well-matched flowers and a finished quilt we have the pastel version of the Pond Life colours this week.

Happy Chinese New Year 2019

Today, Tuesday February 5th, is Chinese New Year and also my 1st Island Batik Ambassiverary. 2019 is Year of the Pig and in the next few weeks we will have several cute piggy appliqués on the blog to celebrate. But first, we get to herald in the New Lunar Year with Colour & Inspiration Tuesday. The Chameleon thinks this is a very good sign for 2019!

Blast from the Past: Bubble Quilt from Jo's Country Junction

I’m starting a new feature on the blog…”Blast from the Past”.  I’ll be showing off some of my “oldies but goodies” quilts.

Today I am featuring my Bubble Quilt.

This one was so fun and SUPER easy…no piecing required.  At the time I had an Accuquilt Go! cutter and used the circle die and the dresden plate die to cut lots of different sized scrappy circles.

Sewing with anxiety... from ~ CowgirlQuilter ~

 Yesterday's sewing started early.  If you look at the pic below you can see that it was barely turning daylight.  Richard had just left for work and we had a snowstorm coming.  

First off, I sewed the flannel binding on the jean quilt and now it is ready for the handwork.  
 Then I sewed the binding on to the Road to Jericho quilt.  Now it is also read for the handwork.  I love hand sewing on binding.
