I Am Enough Quilt Along from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

Hi everybody!  I am taking part in Havel's Sewing Quilt Along.  Melanie Taylor from Southern Charm Quilts designed the quilt and gives us directions.  Here is my first block:

This is all we know about what it will look like!  It's a surprise.

Moxie always helps!

Block 1 is the color wheel

I hand appliquéd the color wheel on top of my background fabric after I tacked down the lace.

These are my fabrics I selected for the quilt along.  They are ALL from my mom's stash including fabric from her night gown. (see below)

my late ...

Kingfisher Quiltalong from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

I wanted to share my progress with you on my #kingfisherquiltalong !  I have all my #hexies done and I am working on appliquéing all the hexies onto to my quilt top.  I decided to piece the diamonds together first so I they didn't stretch.  You know how much I love hand appliqué so that is the plan for now.  If you want to join this quilt along, even though it's over, head over to the blog "Stitched in Color" and you will get all the details and directions.  That's what I did, I was late to the ...

T Shirt Quilt in Loving Memory from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

This is my coworker Lindsey.  She lost her brother several years ago to cancer at the young age of 19.  I wanted to do something for her so I asked her to bring me in his tee shirts.  She finally brought them to me a few months ago and today I gave her this memory quilt.  We exchanged a few tears and then hugs.

This was the picture my friend posted on her facebook page where she wrote this:

On the anniversary of my brother leaving too early I have been gifted the most amazing present. Thank you ...

Save those memories with a baby clothes quilt. from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

One of the most fun quilts that I have made in a while is this adorable quilt made out of some saved baby/children clothes.  I was commissioned to come up with a quilt for my friend who wanted a quilt made from her two daughters clothes.  She wanted something very classic with white in it and this is what I came up with!  I did a stacked coin quilt with white sashing.

my friend Julie and her family

I backed each potential piece of flannel/stretchy tee shirts/sleepers with 801 Pellon interfacing so it wasn't ...

quilt label
This is how I sign my quilts.  If you look back at all my quilts, I always try to do something different on my quilts to make them special.  For a tutorial of how I make my quilt labels, check out this post here.

My present to this sweet young lady is the awesome Amy Butler quilt.  The pattern for this quilt can be found on a PDF here: "You complete me" using her Soul Mate fabric.  How perfect for this new bride to be!  Their wedding is in October.  I can't wait for the wedding.  It ...

Surgery for Bear from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

This is Bear.  He has no hair.  A well loved security buddy for 4 year old Alyssa.  My friend Pam brought him to work for me for some minor surgery.  The operation went well.  He received some thread sutures and two PINK band aids.

Bear before Alyssa pulled all his hair out.

Post op

Bear in scrubs

Bear has been repaired enough to last for a little longer.

Alyssa is very happy to get Bear fixed!
You can tell by the smile on her face!

First time long arm quilting! from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

This is Vladimir.  He is one of my 3 Siberian Forest cats.  He loves to get under the quilts I am working on while they are in my lap.  In this instance, I am binding it and he is hiding underneath.

This quilt is something I threw together in one evening with left over fabric from a much bigger project I am working on.  It's Amy Butler's Soul Mate fabric  but the pattern is her Lark Quilt on her website.

This ladder is very special to me!  It was my granddad's ladder.  He passed away about 3 ...

Surfboards and Palm Trees Hawaiian Quilt from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

My Hawaiian Quilt ~ a wedding gift

Congratulations to Jess and Keegan and their new life together.  After their wedding, the headed to  Hawaii for their surfing honeymoon.  I usually make a quilt as a wedding present but time did not allow me to make it ahead of their wedding.  After they posted tons of pictures on their IG page of their wonderful honeymoon, I had a great idea to give them a honeymoon memory.  I would make a Hawaiian quilt, a challenge since I had never made before.  An internet search led me to Pacific Rim Quilt Company and I ...

Handmade Christmas Stockings from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

This stocking was fun to make and it only took a few hours.  Using some of my mom's old buttons from her collection will make this gift for my niece special because she will appreciate some of the parts coming from her (God rest her soul!).

Thanks to Nancy from her Etsy Shop DoSmallThingsWLove for the pattern.  Go here to purchase your pattern.

I used painters cloth for the stocking base and lined the front of the bags with batting for weight.

These are my design.  They were made for a brother and sister.  Elleigh and Remington (Remi ...

Horse Lover's Gift from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

This is a Christmas gift I made for my friend Trish who loves her horse Lizzy.

Embroidery and a little machine applique allowed me to pull this together.

I used a painters cloth cotton canvas.  It was washed and thrown into the dryer.  I used it for the front and back of this pillow.  I love how soft this fabric ends up after it's washed.  I use this cloth to make my own cover for my ironing board so I always have some extra pre-washed and ready to go.  I also used this cloth for a table cloth on ...

Rose Gold Sparkle Quilt Reveal from A Ditchin' Time Quilts

This is an adorable quilt made exclusively from Riley Blake's Sparkle Rose Gold collection.  I just love it.  My niece Lindsay requested a rose gold themed quilt for her dorm room.   I searched high and low and found out this fabric was just released!  I searched for it everywhere and found someone who was releasing it early.  I grabbed some up and enjoyed working with this lush fabric.  I got the idea from Christopher over @the_tattooed_quilter.  I used the entire collection with some white solid Moda Bella and I couldn't be more thrilled.

Lindsay sent me a snapchat ...
