I straighened that border out when I basted.

There was also so much food. We went to Pierogies House for dinner.
I walked in the nearby park.
We had more delicious food. The chicken sliders - with house-made chips - were a fun lunchtime treat from The Horseshoe Tavern.

“The Rest of God: Restoring Your Soul by Restoring Sabbath” by Mark Buchanan is a profound exploration of the concept of Sabbath and its transformative power. Buchanan weaves together theology, personal anecdotes, and practical insights to guide readers toward a deeper understanding of rest and its spiritual significance. The author delves into the fast-paced, modern world and addresses the urgency of finding true rest amidst the chaos. His eloquent prose and thoughtful reflections make a compelling case for embracing the Sabbath as a sacred space for rejuvenation and connection with the divine. read moreI wanted some new masks made with fabric that fit the theme.
The cut away triangles are so cute!
I made a dozen new masks. Not that we needed that many for a weekend event. Dice, beholders, potions, dragons, gelatinous cubes, and rainbow vomiting cats. Fabrics from Spoonflower.
Then we popped them into the wash so they would be clean for our convention.

They wear white robes, symbolizing their purity and dedication to God’s ways. As Franciscans, we seek to imitate their holiness by living lives of simplicity, love, and service to all. Psalm 34:1-10, 22 calls us to ...

My goal was to cut some of those leftovers into usable pieces. I sorted the scraps into some general sizes. These sizes become binding, borders, and blocks.
Then I sat down with my biggest leftovers, in this case the pieces that could easily be cut into 6.5" squares. These are the easiest to make into a charity quilt quickly. Thirty squares sewn in five rows of six squares and you almost ... read more
