Scrappy Bricks from Becca's Crazy Projects

I finished another scrappy bricks quilt top. These are just great for using up small pieces.
Here is a look at the individual block (designed in Electric Quilt). The center square is 3.5" by 3.5" (unfinished size) and each brick is cut to 2" by 3.5". The block measures 9.5" by 9.5" and will finish at 9" by 9" in the finished quilt. I used the same fabric for the center squares. I'm continue to cut bricks from the scrap bin. I already have enough center squares cut for two more kid-sized quilts.

Cranky Socks from Becca's Crazy Projects

My latest pair of machine knit socks were made using Activ yarn I purchased from CSM Supplies. Jamie has so many different yarns and stock changes often. If you are starting out and want great yarn on cones you should check them out.
I added contrast heels and toes to not break up the pattern of the yarn. The solid blue is also from CSM Supplies.

Cranky Socks from Becca's Crazy Projects

This collection of mostly blues, greens, and yellow, became a pair of monster socks. Sometimes I pick a color, or collection of colors. Other times I just throw stuff in.
I made sure to match the cuffs, heels, and toes this time.
They turned out great! I just need to finish them.

How Does Your Garden Grow from Becca's Crazy Projects

I've had these applique tulip blocks for years. I won them in a block lottery at one of the meetings of the Baltimore Modern Quilt Guild. I just didn't know what to do with an odd number of blocks.
I added some gray print fabric to the blocks that weren't quite big enough and arranged them in a pleasing layout. This took much longer than it really ought. I did have to fill in that one missing block with a print.
I used the same print to add a simple border. I've had that print fabric ...

Charity Quilting from Becca's Crazy Projects

This My Little Pony quilt is just delightful! Pieced by Mary for Annapolis Quilts for Kids
I chose an edge-to-edge quilting design with clouds and rainbows for this one.
This fun little quilt was made using four-patch blocks I had left over from other projects. It's great to combine small, little leftovers into a quilt top. Quilted with a watery texture.

Cranky Socks from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sunday I sat down with my circular sock machine and cranked out some monster socks. This was as I took the back needles out of work to make the heel. I plopped the little cake I was working from the mini mast into the sock to keep it out of the way and to prevent it tangling while I worked the heel. This isn't an issue when I work the toe because I will only be working with one yarn as I near the toe.
I should have been a little more careful with the green I used for ...

Sometimes I Rip from Becca's Crazy Projects

I pieced this itty-bitty quilt and found this little tear in one of the blocks after the piecing was done. When I saw the rip I marked the square so I could rip it out and replace it with another piece.
Since this was pieced using strip sets I ripped two sides first to release the strip. Then it was a simple matter of ripping the sides of the square. (Bonnie Hunter has a great tutorial that shows how to piece strips and sew them up like this. Check out her free pattern Scrappy Trips. It is a great time ...

I picked up a new stack of tops ready for quilting from Annapolis Quilts for Kids
I'll be working through these over the coming weeks. This was the first one. I pieced this one with this fun duck print and some leftover blocks from other projects.
I pieced this one using some scrappy quarter-log-cabin blocks alternating with leftover blocks.

Design Wall from Becca's Crazy Projects

I have a small garden growing on my design wall. Several years ago the Baltimore Modern Quilt Guild would coordinate a block and everyone that made one would get an entry in a drawing for each block. I won these blocks during one of the raffles. I think I made four or five of these so I had plenty of chances. I'm going to size up the smaller blocks, add some sashing, and sew these up into a fun little quilt.

On the right are my scrappy bricks blocks. I might have another charity quilt top finished soon.

What ...

Quilt Leftovers from Becca's Crazy Projects

I pieced a couple tops for Annapolis Quilts for Kids. Both of these were made using the leftovers from other quilts, primarily trimmed from backing fabric after quilting. This one used most of a yard of donated fabric for the alternate blocks and the outer border.
This one includes some string pieced quarter log-cabin blocks alternating with leftover 6.5" blocks. Scrappy with a bunch of movement. Once I get some backing fabric I'll get these quilted up and ready for binding.

Machine Knitting from Becca's Crazy Projects

I tried another version of this shawl. Sometimes I fail to read my work. For those of you that don't knit, or crochet, it is just where you look at what you have already done so you know where to place your increases and decreases later in the work. This is a great example of that not happening. Those three little holes don't belong. I had to remove the work from the machine and start over.
Then I had my marks on the machine bed and knew what to look for when doing the increase rows. Then the ...
