Knots of Love from Becca's Crazy Projects

A friend recommended I check out Knots of Love

Their mission statement: "Since 2007, our mission is to warm the hearts & heads of children + women + men + veterans going through chemo. We are powered by the compassion and support from people just like you. Please consider making a donation today."

I recommend you skip over there and check out their website. Those of you who have been following my blog know I am constantly making. Sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, all sorts of wonderful hand-made objects. Hats are like potato chips, you can make one right after the other. Easy to carry ...

Charity Quilting from Becca's Crazy Projects

Under the sea! This one deserved a more water-like meander. Maybe not wavy enough. Pieced by Mary.

Cranky Socks from Becca's Crazy Projects

It is fun to see how different yarns pool when you work with them. This yarn is one a dyed a while back and I had just a little over 50 grams left. I added contrast cuff, heel, and toe. I think they came out great!

More Masks from Becca's Crazy Projects

A friend asked for some more masks so I grabbed some fabrics and got cutting. Lining and outer pieces cut and ready to go. Now, where did I leave those adjustable ear bands?
I searched and searched and couldn't find them. I ended up having to do some tidying to find them. They were somewhat buried in the piles of creativity I have on my cutting table. I didn't have to dig very deep after all. That cutting table is still a mess.
These masks are really easy to cut with quilting rulers and your rotary cutter. You ...

Cranky Socks from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sometimes I go back to a project, tool, or technique and remember why I tried it in the first place. This amazing machine is no exception. Every time I make a pair of socks I am pleased with the process and the results.
These were made using Cascade Yarns Heritage Wave. This fun yarn makes very wearable socks. They full (the stitches plump with washing making a denser fabric) a little bit in the wash so if you want a lighter sock this yarn might not be perfect for you.

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram (@beccascrazyprojects) and ...

Whoops! from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sometimes things get in the way. I seem to have missed the regular Wednesday post so this one is backdated. Sorry.
Here is a picture of another scrappy charity quilt top I pieced last week. Maybe I'll be more productive next week.

As always, following my Instagram (@beccascrazyprojects) will get you more often updates on what I'm working on. Sometimes things that don't even make it to the blog.

Charity Quilting from Becca's Crazy Projects

I made this little quilt top months ago. Finally got it quilted this past weekend.
This one was made by Trudy. I love how the border print makes the borders fun.
I used this ribbon meander. I think I'll try to use this one more often. I'll drop these off with Annapolis Quilts for Kids later this month.

Forgetful Friday from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sadly, I don't have much to share today. It seems I forgot to take photos of my projects or write a blog post in advance.
I've been planning a new crochet project.
The daffodils are up in my front garden.
I went for a walk with my dog.
Make that two types of daffodil.

Happy Friday! Make something that makes you happy. I think of it as making happiness.

Charity Quilting from Becca's Crazy Projects

My goal with working with Annapolis Quilts for Kids is to quilt at least one little quilt every week. Sometimes I meet that goal, sometimes I exceed it.
This past weekend I quilted two. I'm playing catch up this year because we haven't been meeting. Now that I'm able to pick up finished tops I'm stitching right along.

If you want to contribute but don't have the time or skills, you can support the national Quilts for Kids by shopping through Amazon Smile. I don't earn anything from this link. This link lets your ...

Charity Quilting from Becca's Crazy Projects

The last time I dropped off quilts with Annapolis Quilts for Kids it seems I missed a bag full of little quilts. I combined those with the few I made and those I picked up last time. That means I dropped off 20 little quilts ready for binding. I picked up eight more little tops to quilt up for next month. It's great to be working with Quilts for Kids again.

Preparing for Next Week from Quilt in Piece

SATURDAY, FIFTH WEEK OF LENT Preparing for Next Week Has Lent felt long for you this year, or has it gone by quickly? What have been the graces for you? Do you feel more grounded or closer to God?What prayer, fasting, or almsgiving disciplines have been fruitful for you this season? Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, the beginning of the holiest week of the year for Christians. As a kid, I only thought of this period as “the week before Easter,” and I looked forward to finding our Easter baskets full of sweets the next Sunday. I was oblivious to ...

Listen to Someone Else from Quilt in Piece

FRIDAY, FIFTH WEEK OF LENT Listen to Someone Else For I hear many whisperings: ‘Terror is all around!’ … But the Lord is with me like a dread warrior. —Jeremiah 20:10-11 Forget about whispering; we hear much of the media and plenty of individual cynics shouting, “terror is all around!” Between the terror of the COVID-19 pandemic, the violence and injustice perpetrated against African people in this country, and extreme weather events, reading the news can be very terrifying these days. Jeremiah had reason to be afraid when he heard the whisperings of his powerful enemies. He also discovered that ...

Circle and Square Hat from Becca's Crazy Projects

Just a quick update today. I've had a busy workweek and it shows.

I think these colors are really fun. I hope my family want striped hats for next winter because that's what they're going to get.
