This border print is super cute and deserved to be highlighted. I did some measuring and decided on a layout. I worked up a design in Electric Quilt, pulled fabrics from my collection to make up the top, and got cutting.
I'm not sure how modern this quilt is. It uses traditional blocks, but modern fabrics.

When Sew Desu Ne? released this witch hat pattern last month I had to buy it.
This foam was in the remnants bin and just want I wanted to make my hat.
The Halloween costume fabrics were on sale and this fabric just screamed witch/wizard hat to me.
I was concerned I was making it too small, but it turned out just right ... read more
Thanks to Karin King for choosing this month's Block Lotto
As part of our memberships with the Modern Quilt Guild, we have access to a huge library of resources including webinars, quilts of the month, tutorials, and even a public television show called Fresh Quilting!
This month's Block Lotto is one of many blocks studies that the guild also publishes for its members, and was published by the MQG in January 2018.
So much better! Although, now it is the end of the season and it is unlikely we'll be hitting the road anytime soon. At least it looks nice in the drive.

Aside from all the things keeping me busy in the last post… there was MORE! In September I Have A Notion had a booth at a quilt show. The local Elizabethtown Kentucky Heartland of Kentucky Quilt Show. They have a show every year. This year there were 500 quilts on display and 22 vendors. It was a very busy 2 days. I knew it was going to be a monster to block, but wet blocking was the best choice to get that lace to open up.
Here it is blocked. This is why I love wet blocking knit and crochet projects. It lets the lace shine.
This one is all about looks because it is too light and lacy to offer any warmth.

I needed a new project, so I grabbed this cake made with several balls of Knit Picks Chroma worsted.
I got hooking using a free pattern on Ravelry called Raspberry Croissant Shawl.
I've been working on it for a few nights and I really like how it's turning out. I'm not even close to done with this one and I'm already thinking about my next. That's short-attention-span crafting!

I've been known to say "what people really want is pocket equality." What is pocket equality? There are more than a few articles written about pocket inequality. Here is one that shows sizes and compares the pockets in women's and men's pants. It is interesting, and somewhat baffling, why there is so much disparity. What I do about it is carry a purse that fits all the things I want/need to carry. Most of the time it is way more stuff than I really want to carry, but I don't carry a handbag every day ...

In the first month in August we showed off our fabric choices and I think I might have changed my mind several time during that month. My previous post with the fabric choices can be found here. Then for September, the first block of the BOM was release, you can see that post here. I did decide in the end to stick with the green that I didn’t like last month. This month we are making the in between strip that goes between ...

Then Saturday morning we woke up to cool breezes. Relief! Then it started raining! Yay! That meant no outdoor watering and it became the perfect weekend for no-guilt stitching and eating chili.

Welcome to Month One of the Barn Quilt BOM from Sherry Shish of Powered by Quilting. Last month we show off our fabric choices and I think I might have changed my mind several time during the month. My previous post with the fabric choices can be found here. For September, the block of the month is this: The plan is to make 16 of this block this month that will be repeated throughout the quilt a total of 16 times. Not sure that I am happy with my green, I might redo the couple of blocks I have made ...
