I am so pleased to have finished my Scrappy Hexagon Quilt. One inch hexagons are the best! They are just the right size to comfortably hold together in your hand while stitching, and the scrappy patchwork fabric created by the use of ALL the fabrics is rather delicious. I do so love a scrappy quilt! I estimate to have used 250+ different fabrics and many hexagon pieces have been fussy cut to feature a fabric design element. There's a lot to see! The perfect I-Spy Quilt.

While writing the #lifesaverquilt pattern, I was playing around in Illustrator a lot to find color pallettes that fit my taste. This particular one, was the second one I had in mind, and immediately it came to life.

Triangle Hexie quilt, a solid version from Zarkadia Quilts

I know I haven’t been sharing a lot on the blog the past year or more, but I have a feeling that my blogging time is not over and it will evolve somehow.

I started the #trianglehexie quilt almost a year ago and as always I was waiting for a revelation to come to me so that I could finish it. And it came. And it’s over!

But I do not want to do the pattern wrong. The quilt top finishes super fast, and it is a very satisfactory finish. If you already know how to piece triangles ...

Lifesaver, My first quilt pattern from Zarkadia Quilts

I can’t even describe how excited I am to have my first pattern out and launched in my Shop.

It was something that I needed to dedicate myself to, and I finally managed to organize myself enough to try it, and surely continue!

Bowtie quilt pattern
Lifesaver Quilt Pattern

The Lifesaver quilt is based on the classic Bowtie quilt block, and is using a two-block design to make a whole quilt. I wanted to incorporate a type of “signature” in my quilt designs, and the 16-Patch block seamed like a good idea at the time. And it still does. You can find ...

An English Paper Pieced - Low Volume - Stretched Hexies Quilt: Part 2 from Red Pepper Quilts

Low Volume Stretched Hexagons Quilt - English Paper Pieced | © Red Pepper Quilts 2019

My Stretched Hexies Quilt is finally finished. I may have spent more time thinking about basting and quilting this quilt than the actual doing .... I am such a procrastinator! Of course, the task was not nearly as ominous as I had imagined it to be and I am really very pleased with how the finished quilt looks. Quilting my own hand pieced quilt tops still raises the level of quilting anxiety but I am always happy to embrace the challenge even if it takes that bit longer to get started on the basting and then the quilting.  I have lots ...
