One Of My Busier Days from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick left for golf. I was glad he's back to golfing. I wonder about the chemo he's on now.

After he left, I got up and got ready to go walking with Ron. We decided to make it early today. Then came in and decided to work on my puzzle while playing my game.

I finally finished it. I think it's really cute and was a lot of fun to work on. It's done, and tomorrow I will clean it up. May give it to mom to see if she wants to put it ...

Mid Week Finishes from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Here we go!

Catching up a bit on some finished quilts.  I had to go back and make sure all the finished quilts had labels sewn onto them.  I think I am now all caught up.

This school themed quilt is the 70th quilt made from the Happy Block quilt drive.  This top was put together by a friend of mine and then Laura did a great job quilting it up.  Laura even sewed on the binding.  I just had to add the label!

Two fun prints on the back side.  This quilt measure 56" x 64".

Moving on to ...

Brownie Sewing Fun from Meena Schaldenbrand

Lisa, Lesley, and I assisted Alaina's Brownie troop in earning their sewing badge. To save time, I prepped the fabrics with fusibles, and the girls used manual die cutters. They also colored and decorated fabric dolls with various hairstyles, clothing items, and accessories. The girls can now enjoy playing with their dolls and changing their outfits at home. I hope they had a fun introduction to sewing.

White on White Gold 25, 26 from Virtual Quilter

The colour combination would be restful in a bedroom, but the designs in this project file would work with any colour combination you choose.

The second design looks more like a table cloth to me, not that I would make it for that purpose … I made a Christmas tablecloth and the first time it got used someone tipped a bowl of whipped cream over, and the stain remains! The stain may have disappeared if I had stripped the table right then and washed the cloth, but we were having too much fun with the extended family around to worry about ...

Our Little Clock from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

First, I want to thank you all for the kind comments. I managed to read through them this afternoon. I didn’t try to respond to each comment but your words mean a lot to me. You may have noticed that there were a couple of people who were razzing me weekly about not showing pictures...

My Busy Thursday from Jo's Country Junction

Thursdays are my busy day at home. I don’t work that day and it tends to turn into an errand day. Being I can’t foster as much with the HEART Animal Rescue doesn’t mean I can’t help. I’ve told the coordinator that if you plan something for Thursdays, I can do the running. That’s what …

What we are working on. from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I’m falling down a little bit on the job as recorder of the quilts that go out from our Prayers and Squares group. We had one go out on Sunday and I completely forgot to get a picture or the details of who it went to. Oops....

However, as always, there are quilts in the works. I’ve gotten a start on quilting and sashing the Pinwheels done in red/grey/yellows. And then I’ve started another quilt here, also from the 3 1/2 inch strips. This one is going to be a half square triangle sampler ...

A Spring Quilt Top and NTT from My Quilt Infatuation

Hey there, friends!  Welcome to Needle and Thread Thursday.  I've been moving right along on my spring quilt, all while still giving myself plenty of time outside in the sunshine.  The top is all finished now-

I have the back pieced from all the leftovers (and I can't wait for you to see it!), and today I'm planning to get it basted.  I'm leaving very early in the morning on Tuesday for Bloomington, IN- my final teaching trip this spring, and I may or may not get the quilting done before I go.  Our weekends are ...

Squaring up Half Square Triangles with the Bloc Loc Ruler from Patchwork Posse

Learn how the Bloc Loc ruler can cut your trimming time way down. It’s super simple and makes squaring up half square triangles easy.

There’s a channel on the back of the ruler which fits on the seam of the HST block, kind of locking it in. The ruler won’t shift and move and makes trimming really accurate as well.

This process is the same, no matter the size of your half square triangles.

Quarterly Update from Factotum of Arts

Not quite a quarterly update, and I realized that I did not post about my goals here, on my blog. So, let’s start by sharing my goals and how they are going now that we are a third way through the year.

April Furtle from Espritpatch

Another busy month here which including a work trip in the UK for 4 days. I have managed some sewing but I've also felt really tired at times and found it difficult to find much energy. Maybe the lack of spring weather has not helped...

I've managed to keep up with 2 of my quilt-along: the Modern City Scape and the Birthday blocks making a total of x blocks and I also made March blocks for the Ravenbrook Scrap Quilt Along (still some catch up to do on this one...)

I also finished the last block of row ...

Emails hurt from Lisa H Calle's Blog

I have worked hard not letting the off comment hurt my feelings. Maybe I am overly sensitive this week since I’ve been working hard to get the QG Creative Design Society members over to the new $9.97/month price. In doing this, I have given myself a huge pay cut to make it affordable to more quilters, so when someone tells me that they are disappointed in how this was handled… it freaking hurts my feelings and frankly makes me a bit angry.

I made this change the only way I ...

New and Adorable Paper Pieced Puppies from Made By Marney

I’ve been busy designing paper pieced dog blocks and quilts for my friends and customers. It’s been exciting putting together a collection of blocks for one specific breed. These are some of my recent collections…

Inspired by my friend’s beloved Cavalier King Charles, all 4 of these blocks were used in a quilt and some pillows for an auction. Thanks to Sara for providing this photo. You can find these Cavaliers in my ETSY SHOP. I currently have 160 dog blocks to choose from.

My niece Mandy has a Doberman which inspired this lap quilt for a ...

Do-Nothing Day, Quilt Show Encore, And Paducah Mural Wall from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. It's a good thing I have lots of pictures for you today. We can both just sit back and relax. I did almost nothing yesterday. The day off was very nice, and I'm happy to report my pain level is back to pretty much zero. (At my age, we're not ever quite at zero.)

The only thing I accomplished yesterday was getting Smitty out for some more Cattucky grass.

The people with the big woofies moved on and so the space beside us was empty. I've realized if I carry him around ...

Road Trip.... Paducah or Bust from Humble Quilts

First stop, Nashville!
We got in last so had a good night rest before exploring.
We opted for the hop-on, hop-off bus.

So interesting to see this in Nashville!
The Parthenon in Centennial Park, Nashville, Tennessee, United States, is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens, Greece. It was designed by architect William Crawford Smith and built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition.

Cumberland River. (Now I want a selvage that says Cumberland!)

The Pickers Nashville antique store.

Marathon Auto Works is a large cool building that houses many little shops and antique displays.
