And God Saw Progress from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

I love this project and would sit and work on it all day if I didn’t have other stuff that has to be done. It’s a big project and it’s going to take a while but I think it’s so pretty. According to the Markup app, I’m a little over 5% done. That means I...

Free Motion Quilting – Trio from I Patch and Quilt

Did you know you can free motion quilt with a 12W thread? You would have to go really slow, yes. But it can be done! For this week’s design I used a spool of Sulky Cotton Petite 12w thread. People have been using this for hand quilting and embroidery, but you can freemotion with it too!

The edge to edge design Trio is not based on an existing shape like a leaf or a flower. With a bit of imagination it looks like a cartoon drawing of an animal / dinosaur seen from the side. Or does it look like ...

Stitching News from Angie Quilts

Unfortunately, for one reason and another, our May retreat had to be postponed. It was disappointing to all that were going, obviously, but I'm happy to report that most of the ladies were able to book up mini breaks elsewhere.
Carol had a small brainwave and asked about the possibility of retreating in my very own shop? You know I love to give excellent customer service! I decided we could have a 'Cheat Retreat'.
Coming to class one morning, sew all day and a bit extra, with obligatory nattering and giggles. In the early evening, leaving all sewing paraphernalia ...

A wonderful day from Happy Cottage Quilter

Did you have a good Mother's Day? Mine was great. My daughter took me to get a pedicure on Saturday. I normally don't get them, but it was such a nice treat. Then she went to church with us, which made this mama's heart happy.

Happy Flowers from daughter

then my son came by and brought these
and a dozen long stem red roses from sweet hubby.
My youngest son's family sent this amazing picture they painted of Grandma's Garden.
Isn't it adorable? Their mama is so talented and creative.

And to top it ...

Short & Sweet (Weekend!) from Quiltville's Quips & Snips!

These kinds of skies.

Impressive.

But daunting!

It's this kind of weather that says "Maybe it's not the best time for over the porch rail photos...."

But it also came at the RIGHT time.  Because the upstairs AC unit decided to go on the blink.

Oh, it blew air - just not cold air.

Thrifted Bargains, Tiny 9 Patches, Knitting Moss Stitch from Canadian Needle Nana

Ned's big brother is staying with us for a little while. Here he's having a chat with Tony. Petey is demonstrating his signature move...how he can balance and beg at the same time. Definitely treat worthy, he insists.

During this week, I've been tv stitching. So enjoy making these tiny EPP blocks.
I found another YouTube stitcher to watch who enjoys both cross stitch and quilting. Laura at LalaDee Stitches. She has a great upbeat vibe and shares much enthusiasm for each of her many projects. She does beautiful work in both cross stitching and quilting ...

Another Slow Day from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. It was a beautiful day weather-wise. There was no wind, and so it was very still and peaceful. We listened to the birdsong and sat outside. Even Smitty got outside to enjoy it.

Our neighbors to the north moved on and took their stupid woofie with them. Smitty could munch on his grass without having to look over his shoulder.

My morning was spent slow-stitching. I stitched enough of the kitten to decide to move my hoop.

Next, I was ready to finish off the leaves and the right side of the branch.

I was still ...

The end is near! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Thanks for the stories in the comments. I've mentioned this before, but I'm not alone in dealing with hoarding issues. I hate to say that it runs in the family since my parents both have issues. All three siblings have hoarding tendencies, and I see it in M. I found an interesting article about hoarding—check it out because it's interesting.

Hoarding is now being labeled as a branch of mental illness and is widely discussed, and some companies will come and get rid of the stuff, etc. But it's only recently in my world I ...

♫On A Country Road ♪ ♫ In Pennsylvania from Humble Quilts

My driving host was Maenad.
She picked me up and dropped me off at the Philly airport. (1 1/2-2 hours each way!)

As if that wasn't enough she offered to take me to some quilt shops in Amish country.  That was a lot of fun!

The blog title is country roads.... that's no joke!

Our first stop, formally known as Weavers, now Lancaster Home and fabric.

We aren't in Oregon anymore!

She never minded stopping and letting me snap photos!

These look pretty easy to make, but no thank you.

The hat wasn't quite right ...

Paper Pieced Celebrations Blog Hop from Quilted Delights

Today starts week two of the Island Batik Ambassadors Paper Pieced Celebrations Blog Hop and I am showing off "Frog Eyes", my newest quilt using the Lavandin fabric line.

Lavandin is an original Island Batik collection by Claudia Pfeil

When I received it in my ambassador box, I wasn't sure what celebration it could go with.

I was loving the teals and purples, but the greens were throwing me off a bit.  It wasn't till I looked up lesser known holidays that I became inspired.

I learned that May 13th is National Frog Jumping Day.

It's amazing ...

The other night Vince and I were watching a movie and a quote was used. “Don’t cry because it’s over; Smile because it happened.” In the movie, it was quoted from Dr. Seuss. That quote hit me because there are so many things in my life that instantly popped into my head. First, I was...

Design Wall Monday - May 13 from My Sewing Room

Our Saturday evening was spent attending the school musical Beauty and the Beast.  One granddaughter was in the cast, and the other was sitting in the audience with us.  So much fun!!

The costume worked out just fine.  They added some of the extra fake fur on the knees because she needed knee pads under there. She spent most of her time on stage on her hands and knees.

Olivia played Sultan the dog that turns into an ottoman.  I'm quite amazed at what 4th and 5th graders can do.  Olivia attends an A+ elementary school, which is a ...

Outside and inside..................... from Exuberant Color

I decided it was probably safe to put the tomato plants in the ground.  This is an Early Girl plant for my neighbor girls.

I have 3 plants in the raised bed in the backyard.  The front 2 corners have rotted so the big rocks are holding up the front board.  I have one Sun Gold in the back and an Early Girl and a 4th of July in the front.

3 of the plants I bought were the larger more expensive plants so they have fruit on them already.

There is one good size one on this plant.

Design Wall Monday - May 13, 2024 from Small Quilts and Doll Quilts

 Happy Mother’s Day!

Well, I am ashamed to admit my binding project of the last two weeks hasn’t progressed to the finish line.   Two sides are finished, and two yet to go.  I have no excuses, but here are some feeble attempts at ones:

1) It’s spring and so many other distractions are happening.

2) Several friends have no car transportation right now, and hubby and/or I have been giving people rides to and fro.

3) I bought some plants and received a gift of a new gardening tool for my birthday.  It is a very ...
