Contrast cuffs, heels, and toes makes that 50 grams become a pair of socks. It's been months since I knit a pair of socks. That's crazy.

After seeing a snap chat picture of a pair of cozy thick wool socks (12 ply/triple knit) I had made myself recently, my daughter had a request. Could I knit her a thick pair of socks for her birthday? (I had previously made her and the granddaughters a finer 4ply pair each for Christmas). Of course I could, she often wears gum boots at their rural country homestead, so these would certainly keep her feet warm and comfy in the winter. Today is her birthday, so I can now share a photo of the birthday socks.

Another apron
I’ve also been working on another pair of socks. These were the very first pair I ever knitted, but I’ve found them much too short, the pattern has them finishing just a couple of inches above the ankle. I wasn't happy wearing them, so decided to unravel the rib down from the top and lengthen them. That was easier said than done, I ...

These turned out great! I used the entire ball of Felici. It was a fun experiment. I should write down some notes so I can replicate the process.

The next time I try this I'm going to use self-striping yarn. I think that will be exciting.
The semi-solid for the toes and heels is just perfect!
These bright socks were made using Activ yarn I purchased from CSM Supplies. If you want to knit with yarn from a cone and have hard-wearing socks, this is the yarn for you. Color choices are constantly changing. I would buy one of each if I wasn't already drowning in yarn.
All caked and ready to go. Those that follow my blog know I posted the October socks a little while ago. Check out this post from February 2021 to see those socks.
I love every pair of socks I make.
There they are! Almost finished. All that remains is closing up the toes and they will be ready for feet.
This was a fun pattern with a different construction technique that was fun to learn.
I'm sure I will make another. Maybe with more of a marled effect. I'll let you know how it works out.
I grabbed my brightest speckle and some self-striping with black and pink, pulled in some Knit Picks Stroll in Pucker and Highlighter, and made these beauties. I love Stroll for socks and other accessories. So soft.
I also added yellow toes to this pair made with Activ yarn (color: Colorado) I purchased from CSM Supplies. I would buy all the colors if I could.

Every time I knit a pair of these I remember why I love making them so much. The colors are just such a delight. Yarn is thick sock from Knitterly Things. Check them out for self-striping yarns as well as kits to make your very own pair of monster socks.
