What Can I Say? - It's Friday from Quilting My Way

This morning I found Sophie hiding!

I go that look of "What?!" She never used to sleep there, but lately in the last couple months she started to. I keep hoping she will go in the box part one of these day.

I headed to Safeway before heading to moms. She needed salad stuff for our lunch. It's nice to have a good salad on Fridays. Each week it's different and makes it more fun that way.

I took the scrap QOV blocks that mom and I were working on.

Mom had all the "pieces" done and I ...

Another QOV Top Done from Quilting My Way

I went to moms this morning. We planned on working on finishing one of the two quilt tops.

We had one plan, then sent photos to Patrick to help us out. He was fun! Kept asking questions, and then making me change this and that.

We then ended up with this. Patrick walked me through the colors and patterns. It looks a lot betting in real life. I was happy with the way it came out. I will have to figure out what to do with a lot of the other stuff we have. One block at a time. One ...

Another Meeting Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I headed to moms. It's Friday quilting day. I made us a Chai tea and then everyone started showing up.

I worked on the half square triangles.

Mom had pages and pages there for me to sew. I left her 9 pages as I did the rest. I was surprised at how much I was able to get done. Patrick surprised us all by stopping by and giving mom a strawberry pie. He went to the Mennonite bakery in Rochester. We used to stop there when we went to the casino, but we haven't been to ...

Playing With Blocks Today from Quilting My Way

I headed over to moms to work on QOV quilts. I took that stash of stuff with me. We started separating them, Then Debbie said she would come over and I pulled everything out. I put the blocks on the kitchen table, the panels in the living room and the fabric in the bedroom. She took a few things, which made me happy!

Mom and I decided to put a panel quilt together, so we laid it out on the floor.

We picked this one to work with. Mom wanted to put the strips there, over the border already on ...

Another Day At Moms from Quilting My Way

It was quilting at moms today. We do this every Friday, so that shouldn't surprise anyone.

I worked in the sewing room while listening to everyone. I worked on the half square triangles. Had to order more paper strips for mom.

We got a LOT done! I just need to get moving on working on blocks. Must have enough to make 10 quilts at this rate!!

Came home and Patrick took me to Red Lobster. I was amazed at how much food they served! It was enough for 3 meals to me. Brought at least half if not more ...

Another HOT Day! from Quilting My Way

Patrick and I over slept. It was nice because we slept downstairs in the spare bedroom. When we got up and headed to Safeway, it was 92 degrees at 10:30 am. We figured it would reach 100 by noon.

Got to Safeway and found all the cold food gone or covered up. We couldn't get to the cold stuff other than the milk. We picked up what we could.

Came home and headed downstairs.

I then went to work on cutting the backing and batting for the quilt tops. I had to wash the backings, and was glad ...

Heat Wave Started in WA from Quilting My Way

This morning I was off to moms. I took Nancy to the doctors office to get her records and then she came back with her friend Sandy. We had 7 of us show up. It was fun. Everyone worked on their projects and I worked on the half square triangles.

I got a lot done and added them to moms pile. For lunch we made baked potatoes. I cooked them in the Air Fryer and they turned out crisp and great.

Came back home. I got 1 row of beading done. It's took hot and we don't have ...

Finished Another Quilt Top from Quilting My Way

This morning I headed over to moms. We planned on working on the QOV quilts. She's still cutting the squares for the 9 patch variation quilt. She was using my half square triangles. I accidently took her the 6" ones, so I need to remember to take over the 3" ones. I will do that on Friday. I took the tub that has the panels and blocks in them.

We looked for fabric that we could use for the borders.

We decided on this one. I need to iron it. I also need to cut the backing and batting ...

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick brought up the cinnamon rolls for me to put in the oven. I made some last night and we let it raise over night downstairs where it is cool. They were really good this morning.

Katt called to chat with her dad. I got to chat with her too. She's sounding really good. I do miss that girl of mine!

I finally went downstairs to work on the quilt top that I'm doing. I need to figure out a border for it. I will try to get that done soon so I can take the ...

From One Thing To Another from Quilting My Way

This morning I had plans of what I wanted to do.....Yep! I forgot that planning doesn't work for me! Nope, my plans didn't work out as planned.

So, I went into the computer room and worked on our bookkeeping. Since I had trouble getting a new listing in QuickBooks, it took longer than I was planning....a good 2 hours more than I was planning. Then 1:30 pm arrived and I went downstairs. I called my mother's cousin and we chatted a good hour or more. Must be in the family to have chatters. Called ...

Quilting Day With Mom and The Rest from Quilting My Way

Today I headed over to mom for our quilt meeting. I arrived early and we started working on cutting the fabrics.

Everyone started to arrive and while mom cut the squares, I worked on the strips. I would give her 3 and 3 1/2" strips to cut into squares. We all got the tubs out and went through each of them. We divided them into groups - large fabrics, medium fabrics, small ones and scraps. Filled the tubs back up. Then I went and cut the strips of the scraps. I actually went through 2 of the smaller boxes. Then ...

Busy At Mom's from Quilting My Way

This morning I headed over to moms. I took my Chia tea with me to make her some tea. That way I didn't have to go and buy her one. I also did a cold Chia tea for me and took it with me.

I took all my tubs of QOV fabrics. When I arrived mom was out to the bank. I got started by getting a few things ready for mom. I pinned the corners of the blocks for her to sew. When she arrived we got going. I made her tea and then went back to iron ...

Sent The Afternoon Quilting from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and out the door for my doctors appointment. Working on getting my IBS under control. Oh, what fun. On my way to the appointment, where I turned to go into the hospital area, there was a LONG line of homeless parked on a 3 block area. I was shocked to see them all.

After my appointment, I headed to moms. We are working on all those scraps from Sue K. She got the strips cut and sewn together.

Mom had a good stack of strips ready for the quilt blocks.

Nancy showed up, so we ...

Actually Had A Plan - Sort Of Worked from Quilting My Way

Today I wanted to work on my QOV stuff. - It sort of worked -

I went downstairs to get back to getting the quilt done. I wanted to get it close to being finished.

THEN I SAW the mess I have downstairs. I had to go through the fabrics that Sue gave us. All good. But then there is a box of strips. UGH I found blocks of different colors, different sizes, and not yet completed. I got rid of the really small fabrics that are hard to work with. Then I went back and sewed on the quilt. That didn ...

Three Times The Fun from Quilting My Way

This morning I decided to go downstairs and work on my QOV scrap quilt. I needed to cut more fabrics as well as getting the triangles trimmed. I also made a few more half square triangles to work on the blocks. The more I trimmed the more I decided that was getting old. So, I started sewing on a few of the blocks. At least trying to get a few more blocks done.

I was able to add another 4 blocks to the quilt top so far. I will work on it some more. I'm in need of more ...

Quilting Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I stopped to see Sandy for eggs. She was looking good. Funny thing though, I have 24 plus 8 eggs already. I asked her if she was home on Monday to get eggs. She said she wasn't available, so when we went to Costco, we picked up 2 dozen (because that's what they had). I will be making a cake that takes 6 eggs, so I wanted to have more for when family came. So, when Sandy said she had eggs, I decided I better take them. She gave me 18 eggs. Well, I called Nancy ...

Trying To Finish A Few UFO's from Quilting My Way

This morning I wanted to sleep all day. I really couldn't get out of bed and slept till 10 am when I heard the beeping of the oven. Patrick made some rolls. I realized I took a couple pills that should have been taken together and it knocked me out. I rarely do that. So, I told Patrick, I won't ever do that again.

Then I heated up the downstairs. I wanted to get a few things done. First I needed to get to work on the binding for the Christmas quilt I had Bill quilt for me ...

A Little Of This And That from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up earlier than I have been getting up. Not to worry. I played a few games and listened to the end of my book.

Then when Patrick was up and ready to go, we headed over to Safeway. Before we left, I needed to get the bread ready to raise.

Once that was done we left. We did a little grocery shopping, and I was surprised at how much we spent. Didn't have enough coupons today! Oh, well. Got back home and put everything away.

Then it was time to get the laundry started - and ...

Finished The Quilt Block from Quilting My Way

Today I was up and out the door. Headed to moms first. Then when Nancy came, we headed to Carmen's house. She lives out past Ada's High School.

We worked on our applique. I got busy to try and finish the quilt block for Nona.

Sunbonnet Sue is done. I was happy with the way it came out. Better than I thought, and I did a good job on it. Can't say that about all the ones I do.

While we were appliqueing - Carmen's dog "Max" came and wanted attention. Love this dog!!

He was so ...
