It's all about CREATIVITY from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's the end of the week! How did that happen? There was so much going on that I just went from one thing to another, and well, here it is - FRIDAY!!

OK - so I didn't get as much done as I wanted yesterday, but I did have fun, and that's what life is all about. I watched one of the presentations for Quilt Canada (in french), and it was great. Amazing how much I still remember after all these years. And it's not even my first language. When I was listening to the French radio station ...

Productivity on the rise! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I was on a roll yesterday, and I never did get out on the bike. I was exhausted by dinner time, and I could barely do some stretching, let alone get out on the bike!

Well, it was a super productive day, and honestly, we need to be careful what we wish for!

So, I've decided that I need to resurrect The Task Master. What is that? It's simply a notebook where I write down what I need/want to accomplish that week. Why did I resurrect it? I want to be able to see what I've ...

A preview of what's to come from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

No, this isn't going to be about upcoming classes! Although I do need to get myself organized and try and figure out everything coming for the fall. Several of the clubs I run were set for six months, and they end this month. I think it'll be an excellent idea to take the summer off for some of this stuff. I need a break, and I'm sure some of the participants do as well.

It'll be interesting to see what happens this summer. The official "stay-at-home" order expires today, and for the first time in months ...

I have sewing tools and I know how to use them from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my gosh -- you guys are the best!!! There are times when I think I live in a vacuum waiting to be rescued by you all!! I will NOT be buying a new rain jacket - I just need to find some waterproofing stuff. So that's on the list of things to track down. See how those errands accumulate!! I can barely keep above the water on the errands, but I did manage to get a few off the list yesterday. You know how it is - one errand leads to another and so on.

We have some house repairs that ...

Some assembly required from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

You know that I've not been happy with my desk set up for the computer. When I didn't spend much time here, it didn't really matter if the desk was messy. But now that I have more and more work on the computer, it's become an issue. There is zero room on the right of the mouse to work, and the left side was covered with stuff that needed to be doneā€”just a disaster.

My messy desk

I had tidied up the little shelf that's behind the monitor, and all the cords and such ...

Why you NEED a design wall...... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Thank goodness, my foot is fine. Holy -- that hurt a LOT yesterday - well, just in the morning. It doesn't seem to be bruised. Well, the color of your feet/toes is so bizarre anyway that how can you tell if there's a bruise? It's a bit red, but it seems to be fine! I'm a bit apprehensive, though - I don't want to bang it again. The bad sewing machine got moved out of the way, as I should have done the day before!

I accomplished a few things in the morning on the computer. The ...

Humpty Dumpty cannot be put back together again from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH - it's a GOOD news day!! I'm thrilled to report that there are now only THREE pineapple blocks to complete. Yes -- I managed to get one done this morning. Now that I'm finished fiddling with the Long Time Gone quilt top, there's time to actually do other things! The remaining three blocks have all been started, so if I don't finish them at Monday sewing today - well - they need to be done!

One pineapple block - DONE

I might even get that last section together and into the quilt. Fingers crossed on that!!!

I got the ...

Breaking the rules from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm happy to report that the Long Time Gone is ALMOST done. All the little things I wanted to change are changed! All the sashing pieces that I need for the last section are cut and ready to sew in place. And Section 4 is together as much as it can be. The only thing left is those darn four pineapple blocks! That's going to have to wait until Monday sewing, which is tomorrow. And I see that more and more people are getting their tops together, minus the border as that is the class for next weekend ...

Now about that new car................... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

A day without frustrations is a good day indeed! So I didn't necessarily get as much work done as I needed to do - well as I wanted to do, but progress - it's all about progress!! OH -- I did have one SMALL issue when I couldn't find my presentation for yesterday's class. But it all worked out! It's good to be able to think fast on one's feet.

I'm happy to report that my Long Time Gone quilt is looking awesome. Sections 5 and 6 (the right-hand side) are now together. It's getting ...

Digging for gold from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Holy -- things seem to take forever to do! At least I took more pictures than I did the previous day, but not much I can share with you. I'm working on my blog posts for the end of the month, and well - you just don't get to see them yet.

I had two presentations yesterday. And I attempted to use my desktop computer. I lugged the darn thing downstairs, only to find the camera wouldn't work on Zoom. Seriously? I've used Zoom on this computer before, so I don't know what the issue was. I ...

Waiting................. from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- so I probably shouldn't share this story with you. It's rather embarrassing, but I thought, what the heck! We all need a good laugh these days. I'm having an issue with my laptop - nothing serious, but I can't uninstall a program. It's a long story, and I'm not going into all the details. The bottom line is I need to uninstall the program and then reinstall it because I need it. Somehow there's an issue with one of the files?

I've called Microsoft before, and they couldn't fix it, and ...

What's your lifestyle? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh boy -- everything takes way longer than planned! I've got so much sewing prepped and ready to go - I just need the time to sit at the machine and get it done! I did get a lot of sewing done, but it was for a project today, and of course, that Long Time Gone is consuming HUGE amounts of time, and I don't seem to be making progress.

This might be the picture I showed yesterday - well if so, it's a bit more advanced than that. Yep - same picture as yesterday  - I didn't take a new ...

It's all about the car from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- I think I've put more miles on my car this week than I have the entire year so far! I had things to pick up and drop off, and it just happened that it all came together this week. Holy -- it takes time to do those errands - I was away for FIVE hours yesterday, so I didn't get a whole lot done. However, I did FOUR errands in those five hours, and I've got some fun show and tell. But not today.

I need to catch up from two days ago. Let's say that I ...

How well do you listen? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

As I was prepping the pictures for this morning, I wondered what title I should use for the blog post. I had just finished listening to Alex Anderson's "live" post from Wednesday morning. Oh boy -- people do NOT listen. She started a sew-along which I think is free to anyone. The pattern can be found on The Quilt Show webpage (top right-hand corner). It's only three pages, and there are kits - probably all gone by now. But any fabric would work.

So the first session was on cutting and prepping. How many people asked - can I do this ...

Memories are precious from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Wow --- I heard from Jackie, whose father-in-law recorded his eulogy, and it was played at his funeral! How cool is that? I really think it would be fun to touch base with your friends in such a manner. That is there are any friends left! While it's a sad day, it's also a time to celebrate and embrace the moment. Life is so short - we need to have fun with it - right to the end.

So here's something else related to that. As you know, I'm watching old episodes of The Quilt Show. I started at ...

Google is everywhere from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I had such a great day yesterday! I felt like I could tackle the world, and while I didn't solve any global issues, I accomplished loads! Had some great conversations with the Long Time Gone class, and well - it was a great day! Let's see what happened.

Oh, first - I want to share some walking stuff. Here's the thing about the virtual challenges -- I'm learning TONS about the geography in the areas in which I walk. I'm currently walking the Appalachian Trail, which goes through the mountains along the eastern part of the United States ...

Ouch! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I was off bright and early to see the chiro yesterday morning. I love this guy (well - sort of!). He's not the kind that gets his patients in line and makes a quick adjustment, and you're gone. Oh no - I hardly get any adjustments - he's working on my tight muscles. Since he has released some of the pressure in my low back, my knee is so much better. However, he played around with my knee yesterday, and did you know how many muscles there are in your knee? And did anyone ever manipulate those muscles? Let's ...

FRAKTAL QUILT from That's Sew Kerry

 A Customer Quilt

A little while ago on Instagram there was a sew-a-long for this wonderful rainbowtastic quilt - Fraktal by Paula Steel Quilts run by Modern Quilt Club using the beautiful 'Phosphur' fabrics by Libs Elliot - my lovely customers joined in and have done an amazing job!

Measuring a healthy 72" x 72" this quilt is full of colour and modern flavour. They told me that the first few weeks of cutting and making all the units were challenging but the weekly tasks and community spirit made it all worthwhile.

I know I am bias but I think they have ...

I had a bad day................... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm sure we've all had those days that we wish never happened. That was yesterday!

Let's see -- what didn't go right. I slept badly last night (thanks in no part to Miss Lexi banging on the door at  1 AM, NEEDING to come in), and then I couldn't get back to sleep. I quilted the quilt from hell (The quilt was fine - the backing situation was not - I should have said NO), I spent more time on the phone than I normally do and ended up in a discussion about something I said I wouldn ...

Ripping..................... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Another glorious day even though my internet dropped twice! Once when I was prepping a presentation, and the other time I was on a Zoom call. Sigh.................   I suspect with it being Easter Sunday, many people were on Zoom, and the internet crashed because of being overloaded. Let's keep our fingers crossed that that was the reason!

I'm making progress on the homework assignments. Almost caught up, and I had better get it done today or by tomorrow at the latest. As I mentioned, we did have a sewing retreat planned for five days, and well - I want ...
