Asian-Inspired Log Cabin Zipper Bag from Pink Doxies

JoAnn's New Quilt Fabric Department!

If you haven't dropped into your local JoAnn store in the past few weeks, expect a most pleasant surprise. They are moving in quilting fabric by the truck load! The stores will be carrying 1091 quilt fabrics when the shelves are finally full, but the first wave of these gorgeous new fabrics already whet this quilter's appetite. Been busy doing smaller projects the last couple of months.  Here are some pics for ideas and inspiration...

Leukemia Awareness for a Friend from Sylvia Stitches

Cancer Awareness - Items to Sew.
My friend has been in a battle with leukemia.  Hope and pray for her recovery.  I made her a few essentials for some support.

I found the leukemia cancer ribbon fabric at spoonflower.com.

Made a hand-sanitizer and a tissue cover.  I will post instructions later this week on making an easy tissue cover.

Found an in-the-hoop cancer-awareness mug rug on etsy from the HenZEmbroidery.  Personalized it for my friend.
In-the-Hoop Mug Rug.
The backside of the mug rug is the cancer ribbon fabric.

And a leukemia awareness cancer ribbon tea light cover.  Just because ...

An Oops that Works from Quilter in Motion

I have a story for you today.   Sometimes, even with the best of intentions, we make mistakes.   I bought a new light to take to quilt retreat with me.  I usually take my Ott brand table lamp but I left it in Florida.   When we got up here, I bought another Ott lamp only this one is much larger as it was a very special price that allowed me to get a floor lamp that can convert to a table lamp along with a wonderful magnifier which is awesome.   This one will stay here in the RV here in Vermont ...
