I try to work on these 5 quilts until they are done. Their turn in the UFO closet is over, and, they need to be finished one way or another. I decided that for 2023, rather than work a little on each one at a time, I would concentrate on just one. I still use the list to plan and look ahead.
Most of these have been posted, but, I need to move on with new projects. I feel as though I have been staring at the same list for forever. I know projects take ...

We took a mini little vacation and, now, it is time to regroup and recheck my goals. I have a new finish and change on the list for February. I always look forward to adding something new from my ufo list.

read moreI borrowed MIL's vintage Singer. We are not sure how old the machine is, she bought it in 1956, the year she got married. Actually it was a gift from her late husband.
We have tried all day trying to set the thread tension right. MIL came to rescue, but no way is it possible to ...

I decided that for 2023, rather than work a little on each one at a time, I would concentrate on just one. I still use the list to plan and look ahead. My focus will be dotty bow ties until it is a complete finish. Sea swept is my one monthly goal for January. SO, hopefully, I will have 2 finishes this month ...
read moreLast December, a friend and I decided to have a UFO challenge in 2022. We chose 12 UFOs and decided that every month we would draw a number and try and finish that project.
I was doing great until June hit and my life got busy.
The June project was to make a quilt to use up more of this neutral fabric stack. Normally I don't put an unstarted quilt on my UFO list. But these fabrics don't fit in my stash very well so I felt making a quilt from these leftovers would be the best option ...
read moreI am still making progress on my goal of reducing my UFOs in 2022.
I have finished all of the projects drawn in January through May. I am still working on my June project.
Here are the blocks I am making this month.
They will finish at 12" and I really like how they look.
I know I don't have enough of the taupe background fabric. But I am hoping to switch to something else and make it looked planned.
Right now I have ten blocks completed with this background. I do have enough for a couple more blocks ...
read moreI snuck in some sewing of blocks and pieces that are not part of my 5 quilt or rainbow quilting goals. I have a few projects with cut pieces that I like to sew every now and then for fun.

For me, 2022 is all about reducing the number of UFOs I have. At the beginning of the year, a close friend wanted to join me so we made a little challenge. So far I have completed every project that has been drawn. But then came June...
It's the end of the rainy- and cyclone season, or 'summer' as the locals call it. We have had a couple of cyclones that came pretty close (the eye). Fortunate not much damage to our property, except some banana trees that went down and a huge branch off a tree in our garden. Lots of rain which is very good for the water reservoirs. At the second half of March we got some sunny days and we were able to spend four days doing some long overdue yard work, before it started raining again! Since Thursday we've had ...
