It’s Tuesday which can be called To do Tuesday or Taco Tuesday and both can apply for me. 

Made a To Do list just for my creative projects  

Given myself a week to get the things done on the list. I figured a majority of them were doable, maybe the quilt top will be pushing it a little bit but we’re going to give it a go.

 This morning was so cool and foggy out. Just lovely. 

Did a few things around the house but tried to enjoy as much as I could outside. I took my little loom out on the porch to do some on the mug rugs or coasters. 

I have another one to do and I’ll have a set of four completed. 

I used Harrisville Design Shetland wool (a commercial yarn) for the warp and tabby weft, and a handspun yarn for the pattern weft.

Now for something completely different (as Monty Python would say)! I’m usually blogging about a quilting project I’m working on, but I’m taking a little deviation from quilting to learn something completely new to me … weaving.

While my sister was visiting, she won (in a local drawing) a weaving lesson to make a scarf with two colors of alpaca yarn…thank you Fevolden Farms LCC. Seeing her weaving process sparked my interest.

 Anyone else tired of the whole "shelter at home" business? Me too. While I am thankful for the safety of my family and friends, and incredibly aware of the privilege to be able to stay at home, I am also so thankful for vaccines and dropping Covid numbers that allows us to cautiously be with other humans again. While zoom is a wonderful tool, nothing quite matches being with others in person. 

This past weekend I was invited to retreat with 10 others who are all fully vaccinated for four days. What a treat!

This is my version of the Pieces of Time quilt by Lori Smith. It started as a block of the month with friends in 2013. I have had the blocks made for a while and had to start on the appliqué border. I finally realized that it would never get done and a finished quilt would be better than blocks sitting in a box, so I added sashing, corner blocks and a border and finished it up. I am happy ...

Today I have the great honor of giving the monthly Artist Spotlight to Maddie Ley! (Yes, it’s a new thing I’m doing. Monthly Artist Spotlights!) This past week has been about weaving.

I finished my first card weaving piece. This was really easy, and enjoyable to weave.

I don’t usually do this, a year end post, but for some reason I wanted to wrap up some of my latest projects. Unlike many people, I did not get loads and loads of things done this year. I spent a lot of time fretting and eating and drinking and read lots of books. But I’ve had a creative spurt this Fall.

This was one of my favorite projects – candy cane towels! I’d seen the pattern on Pinterest and then I discovered it was on Ravelry. I made an appointment with my local weaving store, Lofty Fiber ...

 In an effort to use my scraps this summer, I decided to jump on the plaids bandwagon and make a Plaidish 2 quilt. This quilt is a free tutorial from Kitchen Table Quilting and it's a good one! The quilt top was fun to make and when it was finished, hubby declared it one of his favorites. I decided right then and there to finish it up for him for Christmas.

It has been quite a while since I have been here. Lots of things are happening which is good.

I have finished a few knitting projects-

 Not a lot of quilting going on here these days. I've been flooded with weaving orders, which I love! In the last month I've woven a dozen towels and there are more on the loom now. At the same time, I've been keeping my smaller, inkle loom busy too. I've woven several pair of shoe laces and a couple other projects I'll share with you today.

A friend asked if I could make a camera strap for her to give as a gift. I did some research, ordered some hardware, and set to work. I ...
