What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

I'm sure all of you are in the habit of reading labels. Here's an interesting thing about milk and milk substitutes. I remember many years ago when M started buying almond milk. "Oh, Mom -- you should try it -- it's the best." My response:" NO. I don't want to drink that stuff- it tastes terrible and doesn't have the same nutrients as regular milk. Not touching it!" And we had numerous discussions about it.

I dug out all my camping gear to see if there was anything I could use on this trip. I got the sleeping bag liner -- it's going to be too hot for the sleeping bag, and if I'm cold -- I'll use my sarong as an extra blanket, and wear my down jacket, which I still need to dig out. I loaded a book and my crossword book into the backpack and got the scale. 

Only 7.5 pounds!

Yippeee --- only 7.5 pounds. So I still have to add the jacket, another set of clothes, my toiletries ...

 It was bound to happen. I've been so lucky with all the bushwhacking I've been doing. Zero issues with plants that didn't agree with me. 

However, yesterday, I decided to explore a trail that wasn't good, and now I'm in trouble. Let's start at the beginning. 

I thought I'd go geocaching one more time, but I got about 3 KM from the house when I realized I did NOT have a pen. OK -- so maybe I'll go exploring and see if there's anything easy to get, and I'll go today ...

 Today there's more show and tell; this time, the quilt is called Wanderer's Wife by Jen Kingwell. This was a Zoom class hosted by Thimbles and Things over 9 months. 

Gypsy Wife pattern booklet

There's a little story behind the name of this quilt. When I purchased my pattern a few years ago, the title was Gypsy Wife. Recently it was "discovered" that gypsy had negative connotations, so the name was changed to Wanderer's Wife.

Well, I'm feeling better and on the road to recovery! A downfall that I will blame totally on myself. Dehydration, lack of sleep, not eating correctly, and just the sheer schedule of that trip all did me in. I MUST remember that when booking the next trip. Do NOT overdo it, and NO late flights.

So the presentations went over well yesterday despite the lack of sewing on my part. I have one more today, and oops -- I haven't started that one. I guess the walk and the blog will have to be abbreviated this morning to make ...
