Kerstballen in soorten! from M. Brito de Campos

English Paper Pieced Table Topper from Gefilte Quilt

Here's a colorful table topper, made with a wild range of fabrics - some have been in my stash for 20+ years, and some are hot new Kaffe, Westminster and Tula Pink prints. It's 23" across the center.

It's English Paper Pieced (EPP), with the help of acrylic templates from Sewing By Sarah. One example from the 12 piece set:
(Full disclosure - I was paid a lump sum for the design and directions for this tabletopper. Sewing by Sarah also distributes my free guide to EPP, which you can download here. I do NOT receive a percentage of ...

Going Against the Grind with Tula Pink’s New Collection from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

Have you ever heard the saying, “Don’t throw a monkey wrench into the machine.” The phrase is about industrial-sabotage, meaning to prevent a process from going smoothly by deliberately trying to ruin it. Horrible, right?

Set your quilt planners, color coordinators, and simple prints aside. Tula Pink’s latest collection, Monkey Wrench, will be the perfect storm you didn’t know you needed! Check it out ...

Grieving with Gratitude - Finale from Cheryl Lynch Quilts

This is my last post under the title of Grieving with Gratitude.  I'll still blog occasionally, but sometimes it's time to move on.  This topic has been cathartic for me to be able to share my feelings.  Don't get me wrong.  I'm still grieving and  I am still grateful.

When Don passed away, I received many, many cards in the mail and many, many e-mails with expressions of support, love and sympathy.  I appreciated every single one of them.
I treasured every one and still do.  I have kept them in a pile on my kitchen ...

Fortunate Impromptu Shop Hop from Bonnie's Girl

Since Wednesday I have managed to visit 5 different quilt shops without leaving the state, participating in a planned shop hop, or even traveling on a bus tour.  Wednesday, I traveled from my little town to nearby Hannibal, Missouri--yes, Mark Twain's hometown--and spent a few minutes in both of the quilt stores in historic downtown.  Both Bits and Pieces and The Hickory Stick are nestled in the midst of the Mark Twain Museum and surrounding shops and carry a fine array of the best fabrics and patterns.

Last night, a friend and I went to the northwest corner of ...

November Accomplishments from Sew Patched Up

And just like that, November is gone. Well, it actually left last week but that’s ok. So, how was November you ask? (even if you didn’t ask, I’m telling…lol) It was great! I didn’t get as much done as I … Continue reading
